The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
I am petite and have used "hand me down" packs and smaller guy packs for hiking/trekking and always had issues with uncomfortable fit, especial in the waist and shoulder. Bought the Deva XS 70 and was very happy with its comfortable carry. It is slightly heavier compared to other packs but I NEVER had any back/hip/shoulder issues. The small zipper pouches on belt can hold energy bars, cell phones, sun block/chapsticks. Lots of cinch straps to keep the pack compressed. Packed it w/35 lbs of gear and trekked up to Mt. Rainier's Camp Muir.

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
I needed a new hiking pack. The one I had before was a good back pack, but when I first got it the staff at REI didnt measure my torso, so the pack didnt fit properly. It worked well though for my last trip to Mount Diablo, but with my upcoming black belt test, my needs have changed. I now needed a pack that could comfortably hold up to 50lbs. My last pack could barely hold 40lbs. So I went to REI again prepared to trade it in for an upgrade. This time, the staff that helped me was great! I told him what I needed and said my torso was an XSmall, and this Gregory pack was the first thing he took me to. He loaded it up with weights, put it on my back, and I barely felt the weight. When I took it out on a hike last weekend, it was incredible!!!!
I dont have ANYTHING bad to say about this pack. Ladies, if any of you are looking for a great pack with VERY cush straps, is durable, can hold a lot, then look no further than a GREGORY pack. Best purchase EVER!!!!

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
First off let me tell you I'm 5'1 and a size 6 but I'm a thick size 6 with hips and booty but a small waist... This pack fit me great in the hips but after taking it for a couple walks around the lake too test it out I was shocked at how heavy the pack is. The Deva 70 is a very bulky pack with thick front straps that are too short so the bottom of the straps dig into the armpit if that makes sense. It's hard to explain but the employee at REI said I'm not the only one to have this issue which made me feel better cause I hate returning things.
I also prefer a simplier pack with less pockets and this thing has too many pockets...I'd rather to use stuff sacks in the main compartment.
This was my experience, I hope yours is better.

Lots of storage space that is easy to access with a bunch of extra compartments for anything you would need to fill it with. Great fit and comfortable feel that doesn't rest on your shoulders.

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
This was an excellent pack for my first 5 night backpacking trip on the West Coast of BC. We did the Juan de Fuca hike and the bag held everything that I needed with room to spare. All the little side pockets are excellent for storing and compartmentalizing, and the side zip access makes it so easy instead of unloading everything from the top.
The pack fits great at the hips and the straps are highly adjustable. I would recommend this pack for anyone doing overnight hiking.

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
Took this on the JMT and then some (over 250 miles, 24 days) and it kept the load feeling comfortable and like I was carrying almost nothing. Great back support, especially in the lower back, which I found missing from similar sized packs from other brands. I'm not super petite (though I am on the small side), but the belt cinch was completely drawn and I couldn't close it any tighter on the XS pack I bought (you buy the size to fit your torso length, not your waist). I'm glad I'm not thinner or I would've had problems. The chest strap would also roam up and down often when I took off the pack & put it back on, but it's easy to adjust, so that wasn't a big issue. I did get bruises on my collar bone, but the straps are VERY well padded in both the belt and shoulder straps and I always get collar bone bruises, so perhaps it's just me. I loved the detachable "brain" or top compartment on the pack, and having the Nalgene bottle pocket on the side of the pack aimed forward made it SO MUCH easier to remove and replace my Nalgene as I hiked. Lots of great compression straps, which can also be used for attaching things. Sits well on the hips. Would recommend.

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
I just used this pack to hike the Skyline to the Sea trail through Big Basin Redwood State Park in California. (Which is an absolutely gorgeous place and you should go if you ever get the chance!) It was only a 3 day trip and my bag was probably about 35 lb. It was very comfortable... I had almost no lower back or shoulder pain after hiking with it all day. I also found all of the pockets to be perfectly placed and easily accesible and the compression straps helped balance the weight tremendously even though my pack was only partially full. In other comments I had read that people didn't really find the pockets on the waist strap helpful but my experience was the opposite. My iphone DID fit in one, which was great easy access for photo opportunities. Also, we ended up getting caught on the trail with the sun setting, and I preemptively pulled out my head lamp and kept it in the other hip pocket for easy access. I also had kept some almonds in there at one point. On our second day we set up camp around lunch time so we could explore the rest of the area around the park headquarters pack-less. Of course we still had water and maps, etc that we wanted to bring so I de-tached the top and used it as a cross shoulder day bag and it worked perfectly.
I also want to mention that this was the only bag I brought for my whole trip to San Francisco... the hiking was only a small part of a bigger trip. I fit all of the stuff I needed around the city in it with my hiking gear and It still fit in the carry on compartment. I am replacing my suitcase with this because it is so much easier in the airport.
This is the only time I have used the bag so far... but I don't expect my feelings to change in the future. Can't wait to take it on my next adventure!

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
As a self-declare gear-head, I am always on the hunt for the most functional and most comfortable stuff to play with. This pack exceeded all of my expectations. Not only does the pack fit me like a glove, but it really moves with me too. I have hips and some junk in my trunk, and finding a pack that accommodates my swing has been a challenge. I usually end up saddle sore with hot spots on my hip bones. Not with the Deva.
On the pack's christening trip, it rained quite a bit. The pack held up quite well and didn't slip because of that awesome anti-slip lumbar pad (I was skeptical of that thing at first).
Also, I'm a huge fan of the multi-access points to get to the inside of the pack. It makes it easy to layer and de-layer along the hike.
I'm a Deva now.

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
I had purchased a different backpack early in the year and was unhappy with its lack of outside storage and lashing ability. I returned to REI and spent a good hour or so to find this one. I couldn't be happier. Not only is the storage capacity varied and convenient, the comfort level is tremendous. I just returned from hiking the Grand Canyon from rim to rim and carried this pack loaded to about 35 pounds. I never felt it. This was my first extended backpacking trip and I had been a little apprehensive about carrying the weight for an extended period, especially on the third day, climbing 4400 ft. in 10 miles of heat. But I was totally comfortable.
The various compartments are easy to access and have good capacity. The lashing straps are easy to navigate and hold a tent or sleeping pad easily. I also really like the drawstring system and how easily it operates.
I can't say enough how comfortable this pack is, fully loaded even. It doesn't come too high, and is wide enough to easily slip in the sleeping bag, tent and anything else bulky. It rotates with your hips as you climb and I never felt it rubbing anywhere.
I can't wait for the next backpacking trip in a few weeks!

Comments about Gregory Deva 70 Pack - Women's:
This is the best pack I have ever found. The suspension on it is amazing! When you have the pack on you do not feel the weight of your gear. I often times forget if I have my pack on because of that. The pack's hip harness sways as you walk, which makes it a perfect fit for a woman's body. Gregory knows how to make a solid yet comfortable product. I recommend this pack and Gregory as a whole to everyone. You will love this pack from day one.
