Petzl Corax Climbing Harness
The Petzl Corax climbing harness has an all-purpose design that makes it suitable for rock climbing and mountaineering.
- Harness construction distributes pressure to keep you comfortable while climbing; waistbelt and leg loops are lined with breathable mesh to ensure comfort in warm temperatures
- Waistbelt features 2 DoubleBack buckles that easily adjust and center the harness; DoubleBack buckles allow adjustments while maintaining the correct double-back configuration
- Leg loops feature DoubleBack buckles, which can be undone, allowing the leg loops to drop out of the way for quick entry/exit while wearing crampons, plastic boots or skis
- Green belay loop easily identifies the connection point for your belay device (sold separately); loop has reinforced tie-in points to resist wear
- Includes 2 rigid gear loops toward the front and 2 flexible gear loops in back for racking gear; flexible gear loops won't interfere with a backpack
- 4 slots on the waistbelt accommodate the Petzl Caritool ice screw holder (sold separately)
- The Petzl Corax climbing harness is available in 2 sizes and it is easily adjustable, ensuring a comfortable fit

This is a great product. It is comfy and works great. The price is great and works very well. Me and my buddy go out almost every other weekend cimbing. reason why this is so great is bot me and who ever else that needs to can use it. It fits even big guys like me and im a 40 in the waist. Not to mention how comfy it is i can be in it all day long. Due to injuries in Iraq I have to make sure I have proper gear that protects me correctly cause i have two plates in my spine. But petzel does the job on both comfy and protection and very simple to use.

I have to say this was the best deal in a harness I could find. I have borrowed the Petzl Adjama harness in the past and liked it a lot but the main issue I had was the single buckle for the waist and the belay loop not centering correctly. The Corax harness has dual buckles so I can center it perfectly every time.
I initially purchased the Black Diamond Momentum AL package since it was a tremendous deal and figured the other gear could play backup but I could not stand how much it pulled up on my groin while belaying - the rise was just too short and I'm only 6'2". I could have loosened the loops and waist but the Petzl harnesses seem to have quite a bit more rise to them to the point this is not an issue. I returned the package when I purchased the Corax harness.
The Corax was stiff out of the package but no more so than any other harness - definitely less so than the Momentum AL. I rolled the harness between my hands for about 15 minutes and felt nicely broken-in. A few climbs later and it felt like an old friend.
Hanging in it is not a burden. I've tied off to play photographer from the top of a wall a couple times and sat in the harness for 15-20 mins at a time with no issues. It's obviously no plush recliner but I wouldn't call it uncomfortable.
All in all, I don't think I'm going to need a new harness until this one wears out. It's extremely comfortable and carries gear well for shorter climbs while not being too cumbersome for gym climbing.

Been using this harness in the gym for a few weeks. It was a little stiff at first, but broke in and got comfy after one or two sessions.
The greatest part of this harness is the buckles. They're much easier and faster to adjust than standard buckles. Like any d-ring buckle, they auto-lock if properly threaded and left that way. Also, having two buckles up front makes it easy to fit and keep everything centered.
Front gear loops are nice and stiff; back gear loops lay flat for wearing a pack. Haul loop is handy for clipping on a chalk bag.
At 490 grams, it could be lighter, but you'll probably never notice it sport climbing.

I have now have had this harness for 2 years. I go climbing with my buddies. To tell you how great this is I have a cracked spine from when serving in Iraq and this gives me all the support and comfort ever needed. I also am a pretty big boy and was looking for one to fit me this goes beyond my size needs and I am a men's size 42. I love how this can adjust to fit other friend that go with us all the way down to my friend who is a men's 34 Hope this is helpful. It is very durable and rugged.

This is my first harness and I have yet to find one bad thing about it. I mostly use it for gym climbing but have used it outside and for rappelling and it is great for everything.
The one feature that really sets it apart from others is the dual buckles around the waist. They allow the belay loop and all your gear to stay centered which is a huge plus when you have a lot of gear attached to it.

An excellent harness for the price. I love how adjustable it is, and the dual waist buckles always give me a good center for my belay loop and TIP. I also like how the rear gear loops are soft so they aren't in the way when I'm in a chimney, and that I can increase my gear carrying capacity with the caritool slots. It's also much more comfortable then my old Momentum.

Great harness! Love the quality but I got size 2 and im afraid when i slim down a little it will be to big! I wear a size 33 waist pants and with this harness pulled completly tight I still have a little wiggle room. I thought about sending it back to get a new size but Im afraid it will take 2 months to get it back.
