Rated3out of5byFoCoRecreatorfromToo shortI really wanted this jacket to fit. I have been looking at getting a medium-weight softshell for over a year now, mostly for commuting to work but also for casual wear in spring and fall and for cool weather climbing and hiking. I wanted something fairly lightweight that repels water, blocks wind, and breathes well when cycling. I also wanted good stretch for movement, a contoured fit (I have a North Face Apex that is so boxy it lets wind in from the bottom), and a hood to keep light rain and snow off of my head. The Marmot ROM fits the bill, except that when I raise my arms up, my belly shows. This really won't work for biking and climbing and I will have to return it. I am so sad it's not just a couple inches longer. For reference, I am 5'5" and 105 lbs, bought the XS.

Rated4out of5bysomewherefromnice soft shellMarmot Rom is a very nice softshell. Light, durable material, good protection from wind and light rain, and breath pretty well. Its fit is a bit on the small side so I sized up to M (5'7" 128lb) and it fits nicely with or without a lightweight fleece under. Love the red color combination. I mainly use it for street biking commute so that everyone can see me. My only complain is the hood doesn't fit over a helmet.
