Comments about Marmot Mavericks +40 Sleeping Bag:
Let me be honest, so far, I've used it once for a one-day stay at the Red River Gorge for a climbing trip. However, based on the size and weight of the bag in the compression sack, this thing will be awesome as I start backpacking again this year.
I'm planning on a full weekend stay this weekend at the New River Gorge, but I expect that this bag will handle everything I need and more.
The bag also held warmth very well as during my RRG trip, the night dropped below the 30s and I still didn't get all that cold at night until 4AM when I woke up and unpacked a fleece to help warm up.
Going forward, this is going to be a great bag. Though I would recommend the long bag for anyone at 6' or taller as the extra few inches help make comfort some while still keep a very low weight.

Comments about Marmot Mavericks +40 Sleeping Bag:
This is a really comfortable and affordable bag, it doesn't really have a hood, which would have been nice, but it does the job. I'm about 5'4" and bought the regular 6' length so i had lots of room to snuggle down in. The only drawback was that once i zipped in, the side zipper came open on its own in my sleep once or twice, but only a little.

Comments about Marmot Mavericks +40 Sleeping Bag:
I use this bag for 3 season backpacking in the Carolina's. For a 6'2" 220lbs guy that tosses and turns at night, the long version of this bag is very roomy. I also tend to get really hot at night, so I can take this bag down to 32 degrees or lower with a liner. All of this for a bag that packs down to the size of a football when compressed and weighs well under 3 lbs. I've got some cold weather bags for winter trips or spring and fall trips out west, but they are far too bulky and heavy for what I need in the southeast 99% of the time.
