Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
These bags replace an old, cheap, bulky pair. I particularly like the fact that, separated, they tuck easily and neatly into a 30-liter stuff sack. Although we haven't actually used them yet, both my wife and I are looking forward to them. In 2011, using the old bags, we did a five-week, 5000-mile, car-camping odyssey to southwestern national parks and monuments with a small home-school class. We're planning some shorter, similar trips coming up.

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
The bag is roomy and warm (as rated, down to 35 degrees). It is bulky to pack and transport, but great for cabin use if that is not a consideration.

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
I thought this bag was great for our purposes - car camping during late summer in the US northwest/Canadian southwest. I had to buy compression sacks to get them into a tighter space. I also had trouble with the zippers, at times, but no big deal. I am not sure what the temperature rating was based on, but when using the sleeping bag with two people (especially one that might be a very warm sleeper) it seems that this temperature might be wrong. I would say you could go down to 20/25 degrees, especially if you have sheet liners with you.

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
I haven't used this sleeping bag outside yet, but since my boyfriend and I got it, we've basically been sleeping in it nonstop. Sometimes it gets way too warm for me, but I'm assuming this means it will be perfect the next time we go camping.
The only downfall I see is that the mouth of the bag is pretty wide and if you're doing some cold weather camping it might let a lot of warmth out. If you brought an extra blanket for the top, you'd probably be fine.
ALSO it doesn't come with a stuff sack, so you'll have to find one if you want to condense this for packing (or just unzip and put into two separate stuff sacks). It's surprisingly light weight, but it is obviously kind of massive.

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
I purchased this bag during the Anniversary Sale and a great price. We use this bag for family camp outs to local camp areas. The bag is quite large when packed and would not be a good use for backpacking. But with my little family of 4 we hardly ever camp in remote areas a car can't access. The bags do zip apart and can be used individually which is a huge plus. The lack of a compression stuff sack made me want to go out and purchase a couple. The bag did come in a large nap sack that it fits into super easy. They are easy to unzip/zip back together and the room inside the bag is HUGE.
I recently took my 2 small children (ages 2 & 4) tent camping and brought this bag for them to share and a single mummy bag for myself. In the morning I jumped in the bag with them and found there to be enough room for all of us without our bodies being up against each other.
When my wife and I sleep in the bag together, we have no problems with space. Although we are short, (I'm 5'9 160lbs and my wife is 5'2 100lbs) I can see much larger people fitting very comfortable in the Siesta Double.
The bag is ultra comfy, my wife (who hates the feel of a nylon bag) loves the fleece lining that lines the entire inside. The Siesta 35 is a pretty warm bag, I've only been able to use it in the late spring and summer so far, but it's done the job. I probably wouldn't sleep in this one come late fall and winter (obviously) due to the 35 degree rating, but all in all. This is a pretty solid sping/summer car camping bag.

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
This sleeping bag was an excellent choice for my fiance and I going car camping up in Humboldt, CA. We were so warm and comfortable! We had it on top of an air mattress in our tent, and it was just perfect. It was just enough space, with room to turn around. It got down into the 40's at night, and we were warm and comfortable. My only caveat is that it is bulky...if you are going backpacking, this is not the sleeping bag for you. It does not come with a stuff sack, either. However, if you plan on car camping only with you SO or kids, this is sleeping bag is perfect!

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
I (or we) have owned this bag for about 1.5 years now and used it about 1/2 doz times. It is Very comfortable Like most bags, I don't trust the temperature rating but it does a fairly decent job keeping us warm. It doesn't compress worth a dime, but we use it for car camping so that doesn't really matter.

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
We used this at mile high campground in NC this fall. Temps were in the upper 30s. We were a little hot with two of us in this bag. It would be better if we were down in the 20s and I could see it going down to the teens with a little extra on your head. I would certainly recommend this if you are car camping with a SO for body warmth.

Comments about REI Siesta +35 Double Sleeping Bag:
I really like this sleeping bag. We bought it at a Garage Sale barely used and got a great deal, and so far have taken it camping twice. It's a little small for myself, my husband, and toddler, so mostly it just ended up being me and the kid in the sleeping bag, and we slept very comfortably. It was even colder than the 35 degree temp rating one night we went, probably closer to the high 20s and we were toasty though dad was freezing in his sleeping bag next to us. It seems really durable and I love the color. Though we have yet to take it apart, I like that you can create two sleeping bags out of it. Be warned though, only for car camping, this thing is MASSIVE.
