Comments about Stanley Classic Vacuum Food Jar - 17 fl. oz.:
My work day generally involves being outside anywhere from 6-8 hours at a time (rain, shine or snow). Therefore it is super nice to have this to keep food warm or cold! The mouth is wide enough that i can put stir fry or stew into it and still use my spoon to eat right from the container. It stays warm for hours!

Comments about Stanley Classic Vacuum Food Jar - 17 fl. oz.:
I am very fond of thermoses and use them daily. Stanley makes an excellent product. The capacity of this thermos is smaller than I expected but still very good for one and a half to two servings. Retains heat very well (roughly 10 hours later, soup is still warm). I prefer this thermos to the Stanley without the grip ~ the green encasing helps significantly. Rather easy to clean - I can fit my hand inside to get to the bottom, but could be difficult for those with bigger hands. A long handled scrubby tool would fix that problem, though.
The only reason I did not give this five stars was because I think the lip and lid of the thermos ought to have an option to pour (with the lid partially screwed off). I find I have to take the lid off completely to pour without spilling - no big deal, but it would be a nice addition to the design.

Comments about Stanley Classic Vacuum Food Jar - 17 fl. oz.:
I routinely make coffee at 6am and have a nice hot cup at 1 in the afternoon. I say its cumbersome because with the first cap/cup in hand and thermos in the other, there's still the second cap to get off. If you have a place to set it down, you're golden.
The interior is a highly polished metal, and doesn't seem to change the taste of the contents at all. The exterior is steel from what i can tell, and it takes a beating, but does add to the overall weight. However, after having kept soup warm for 6 hours on a winter summit in VT, this thing is worth its weight in gold to me.
