Comments about REI Madrona Jacket - Women's:
I get so many compliments on this jacket; everyone loves the subtle streamlined military look. I did buy this a size smaller than could have only because i wanted it to fit more snuggly, but it does fit really snug in the chest area. I've had it for about a year now and it is my go-to jacket for Fall and Spring. Right after purchasing this jacket my husband and I spent a week in CO hiking and exploring. This jacket was with me the entire time. One of the things we did was bike down Pikes Peak. At the top of the mountain everyone in the group was piling on layers. I had on a thermal shirt and this jacket; while everyone else was catching the wind in the 30 degrees, I was snug as a bug and didn't feel any wind or the rain that met us when we got down to the bottom. Go buy it.

Comments about REI Madrona Jacket - Women's:
Like the other reviewer, I got a size smaller than I could have because I wanted a snug fit, and I'm glad I did! It looks stylish and tailored, and is tight but not uncomfortably so in the chest. It is the perfect jacket for the extended fall/winter/spring in Oregon - with a sweater underneath it is warm enough for even cold temperatures, and it keeps me warm and dry. I'm very happy with it!

Comments about REI Madrona Jacket - Women's:
This jacket was perfect for a recent trip to Italy. I wanted something that was not too heavy, would give water protection and look presentable on the road. This jacket did all of the above. It's very comfortable and easy to wear. Highly recommended.

Comments about REI Madrona Jacket - Women's:
This jacket keeps me warm & dry in most situations & looks great too. Most waterproof jackets don't look this good or feel this comfortable! I wear size 10 and got this in large which is roomy enough for layering purposes.

Comments about REI Madrona Jacket - Women's:
I first saw this jacket on a fellow traveler in Italy two years ago. The wearer always looked comfortable and chic, no matter the weather. Now I have my own. The cut is trim and the charcoal fabric print is subtle, giving this jacket a very Euro look. I like to blend in when I travel abroad and this jacket will allow me to do that. It's functional - can be worn with a light fleece - and sleek ... a hard combination to find. I'm 5'4", 112 lbs., and the XS fits perfectly.

Comments about REI Madrona Jacket - Women's:
I bought this jacket mostly wanting a light-weight but warm jacket for a week in Spain in January (ie, cold and rainy). What I got is a great jacket not only for that trip, but also for everyday use. Comfortable, handy pockets, easy to use / remove hood, lightweight, goes with everything - what's not to like? This jacket isn't designed for serious snow and extreme conditions - not enough insulation - and its lack of a top-down, bottom-up front zipper might make it a tad less comfortable for serious hiking and skiing. But I plan to wear it snow-shoeing (assuming we get any snow this year ;->) and have been using it regularly as my go-to-jacket.

Comments about REI Madrona Jacket - Women's:
I love this jacket for several reasons:
The fit is flattering. It's not super bulky like some jackets can be, and it has clean lines.
It is waterproof which is a must in Oregon.
It can be worn as a light windbreaker/rain jacket or with a fleece liner or sweatshirt when it's a bit cooler.
The print is cute, yet subtle. (I got the green one and I like it very much)
The fabric isn't noisy like a lot of rain jackets can be.
It's light weight and can be folded up pretty small into a backpack for hiking.
The only thing that I could even sort of complain about is the fit:
It runs a tad large but if you plan on wearing fleece below it, it's perfect.
