Comments about Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ Polarized Sunglasses:
The picture on the REI Site is on the Flak Jacket - not the Flak Jacket XLJ. The XLJ is a larger lens and is flared at the bottom. The picture also does not show the "polarized" writing on the right lens (as you are facing the glasses - left lens if you are wearing the frame) which is present in the actual sunglasses. Not sure who's placing pictures on this site at corporate? The shipping takes far longer than it should. I live in a city; not a rural area. Shipping should not take four days. [@] is far quicker (two days) and the glasses are the same price. Same great return policy on both sites. The glasses are nice and $10 less than in the Oakley store. They offer complete coverage over the eyes. That is, they completely block the sun from entering the eyes. Visual acuity is superb - no lens distortion. The glasses stay on the face even with extreme sweat due to vigorous activity. They don't attract dirt or sweat, as advertised. The polarization is highly recommended for people sensitive to light. I don't find the regular iridium lenses to help with my light sensitivity. I own two pairs of the Flack Jacket XLJ and highly recommend this model without question. The REI awesome return policy that just is icing on the cake. The red polarized lenses are good for medium to strong light (morning to twilight), but look a little "too out there - I scream for attention" for the average person. However, I like to stand-out and these help look different from standard grey iridium polarized lenses.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery NOT prompt; took far too long. Customer service at REI is always superb, but don't expect these quickly if you need them in a pinch.
