The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gerber Junior Gator Machete:
This is a great little machete. It came sharp out of the box and has a good weight to it. The grip on it feels nice and tacky and the included sheath has a loop to strap it to your pack/belt etc. I've used it to strip ~1 inch thick branches off of limbs for firewood and it cut right through them with little effort. The saw part of the blade is a little cumbersome to get the cut started but sheared through wood pretty well once it was.

Comments about Gerber Junior Gator Machete:
Its attached to my Go Bag that stays in my Jeep. No matter where I am I can survive with what is in that bag, and you never know what you might need. This attachment comes in really handy.

Humanitarian field worker in South America and Africa. Only machete I would ever use. Excellent for clearing brush and sawing (especially useful when your truck gets stuck in the mud and you need to lay down traction). Field tested and approved.

Comments about Gerber Junior Gator Machete:
This little thumper works great for hacking brush and the saw blade is functional and sharp.
Right away I used this thing to collect firewood, and split wood, it worked great.
The reduced price is an awesome deal!
The only down sides are the sheath is a bit rough when trying to put the blade in and out, and the blade comes with a sticker on it that leaves a sticky residue when you pull it off.
Overall a great buy!

Comments about Gerber Junior Gator Machete:
This more compact machete is not as effective at yard work as a full sized model. However, it is lighter, fits in a backpack much better, and is an effective chopping/sawing tool. Great for firewood gathering as well as minor trail work. The high carbon blade works well with fire strikers. Good durability so far.
The sheath functions, but poorly.
Lastly, as a double edged tool there is no safe side for the clumsy. Butterfingers beware!
