The soft-shell REI Tempest bike jacket blocks wind and resists water, making it ideal for a mixed bag of riding weather.

Front panels and sleeves are windproof up to 35 mph—great for fast descents; soft 4-way stretch-knit fabric's exterior is abrasion- and snag-resistant
Fabric's inner face features a grid pattern that allows air to circulate, enhancing its breathability
Lightweight, breathable nylon stretch panels on back of arms and shoulders allow free movement where needed most
Features a large zippered back pocket

Comments about Novara Tempest Bike Jacket - Women's - Special Buy:

I was looking for a cold weather jacket that would be warm but breathable on long rides. Got a screaming deal on this from the REI website, but had to return it because it was WAY too small. The other Novara products I've tried have been fairly true to size, but this jacket is super form-fitting. It might be ok if you ordered a size larger than you normally would and didn't hope to layer ANYTHING underneath it. If the jacket had fit me, I would have loved to have kept it. The sleeves are nice and long, and the drop waist in the back is the right length to cover you up but not get in the way. It has zippered pockets in the back, but none in the front, which was kind of a bummer as well.

This jacket is light and warm. It is water repellent, which is nice just in case of random showers. I bought a size small and it fits me fine. This jacket has been so comfortable that I've worn it for running and hiking as well.
