My wife loves this jacket. I bought it for her just prior to a fall trip to Alaska. The fit is athletic which is good for layering and is flattering. The outer shell material repelled rain very well. Packs down into it's own included stuff sack. The tradeoff that you will have to decide is whether you want warmth or lightweight, because this jackets is certainly not the lightest weight jacket out there, but it is definitely warmer than down sweater/jackets. All of the above in a great value especially at closeout pricing.

Overall: I love this coat! I've used it for about 6 months of high altitude hiking and everyday winter use. It looks good and preserves a womanly figure but also keeps me very warm and dry. I've been through many down coats, but those just get annoying when there's any chance of precipitation. This coat keeps me very warm and very dry so I don't have to pack a warm coat AND a rain coat. It doesn't pack down small at all though -- my friends were very confused as I pulled its sleepingbag-sized stuff sack out of my backpack on a day hike.
Features: I love the bottom zipper (I do actually use this for belaying sometimes) and the ability to cinch up the bottom hem to keep gusts of cold air out. The hood cinch is very nice and easy to use (even in big mittens). The main zipper is bomber (I can't imagine it ever really snagging) and the assortment of pockets is great (2 main inside, 2 main outside, 1 chest pocket). Pretty much my only complaint is the cinches on the cuffs. They're hard to get/keep over gloves/mittens and the velcro is very sharp and has scratched me a few times.
