Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
Whoo hoo, first review!
This bag is great. I slept in below 20F temperatures, and had to open the bag to cool myself down a few times.
This thing is incredibly soft, and very warm. I didn't have any issues with condensation on the inside or outside of the bag, even though my tent tarp was coated with condensation come morning.
I highly recommend anyone over 72inches go with a larger bag, as I am exactly 72 inches and this bag isn't kidding when it lists that as the maximum length. In hindsight, perhaps I should have purchased a larger bag, but this one comes all the way up over my shoulders. Basically, it fits me exactly, but I'm a fan of roominess sometimes :)
The flap that goes over the zipper works well to maintain heat. The flap that goes over your shoulders is incredible. The hood is comfortable, and can be crunched up to make a pretty nice warm fluffy pillow.
I tend to sleep fitfully, so I lay on either side, my back, or my front, and was comfortable in all of these positions. I'm about 200 pounds.
It warmed quickly, I'd say under 3 minutes to comfort, and 10 minutes till warmth (Body heat only). The only way I got cold in this bag was when I crawled part way out of it. Otherwise I did some reading, wrote in my journal, and performed some other tasks while sitting 3/4 of the way in my bag.
The Dark yellow on light yellow polka-dot-design isn't exactly stylish, but fashion in the forest isn't usually that important to me.
The bag was roomy enough to roll over in, and I even put some water, a shirt, and a bag of beef jerky inside it to get them warm for morning. When I woke up my boots were slightly frosted, and I placed them inside the bag for about 10 minutes after I was out of it. It worked great, I made sure they were dry, and when I put them on they were warmed by the bag. Even as I was packing it up 20 minutes after getting out of it, I was shocked by how much heat it had retained.
Once during the night I left my bag/tent to answer nature's calling. When I returned to the bag it was still warm and fluffy.
I'll update more as I use this bag in more conditions.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I used this for tent camping in snow. Night-time low was 9F and I was plenty warm! I tend to get cold easily and I really appreciated the neck barrier. I was never cold. The hood was very comfortable. The only struggle I had was getting the hood cinched in the middle of the night - it wasn't hard, but the release is dainty (maybe they're supposed to be this way). I tend to roll around a bit from my back to my sides - I had plenty of room. At 6'4", I had plenty of room from head to toe with the Long.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
This is by far one of the most comfortable bags I have ever slept in, and for the price, you can't beat it. It is very warm and (did I say, comfortable?!) the zippers/hood controls are very easy to find and use. The draft collar is so plush that, while I was wondering why it did not have its own velcro closure system like most bags, after sleeping in it I realized that it is not needed. The only problem is the weight and pack size. This was originally meant to replace my TNF Snowshoe 0° bag, but I returned it after I saw that it was actually bulkier when compared to this synthetic bag of equal temp rating. It only compressed a bit using a Sea to Summit 21L comp sack. I think it is also 3 or 4oz heavier as well. (Both bags are actually EN rated at 3° and 4°) I had to jump at the chance to buy an REI Radiant +10° (EN 7°) because it was finally on clearance. If you need a really warm and comforatable bag at a killer price, but can sacrifice weight and bulk, this is a great deal.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
This bag and I spent a lot of time together last month as I hiked around the Everest region in Nepal for 3+ weeks sleeping at elevations ranging from 3700m to 5100m.
First the pros:
This is a comfortable bag. I'm 72" and 170 lb. I found the long bag roomy enough for me and a few other items that I didn't want to get cold (i.e. batteries, ipod, next day's socks, etc).
The foot box has plenty of room for my feet (size 45 shoe). I have another sleeping bag that makes my feet feel cramped. Not the case here.
The flap at the neckline to keep cold air from seeping down to your body is adequate to keep you warm, but might need to be a little bulkier.
The hood is comfortable and roomy.
Now the Cons:
THIS IS NOT A 0 DEGREE BAG!!!! I had a couple of cold nights with two pairs of thermals and a down coat over the top of the bag. At the most, I would not go below 10 degrees F in this bag without a fleece liner.
This bag also tends to collect a lot of condensation/ice around the hood and neck, but 30 minutes of sunlight is all that you need to dry it out.
The draw cord for the hood gets in the way, but that's typical for most mummy sacks.
The stuff sac that comes with the bag is inadequate if space is an issue. It makes the bag feel bulky. I put the bag in a compression sac that came with my other sleeping bag and was able to get it down to a much smaller size.
Compared to other bags that I looked that had glow in the dark zippers or internal storage pouches, this is a basic, no frills bag. I'm putting that I would recommed this bag. However, I would not go below 10 F with this bag, unless you sleep very hot.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I bought this sleeping bag because it was one of the cheaper 0 degree down bags available and it did not disappoint. I recently used it on a 10 day mountaineering trip to Alaska, where the temps dropped pretty close to 0 and I was impressed with the warmth this bag created.
This bag was significantly lighter than the synthetic bags in the same price range so I went for it. Packing wise I would also recommend a compression sack to help further shrink this down.
If my bag did get wet from occasional water in the tent it dried quickly, and wasn't a big concern with this bag. However, there are no waterproofing qualities to it.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
This sleeping bag isn't waterproof, so, as long as you keep it dry it will keep you plenty warm. The stuff sack included is large. I would recommend investing in a compression sack if you are really looking for space. Pretty light for what it is and it got me through plenty of single digit nights. I would trust this bag to its rating.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I was looking to replace a +20 synthetic, and go colder at the same time (a few nights in single digits tends to motivate).
For down filling and it's EN rating, this Kelty bag is an EXCELLENT value. It's very warm and all the features function well; the zipper is easy to use and snag resistant, the draft tubes and hood/collar cinches are great, no dead spots thanks to the offset baffles, and there's enough room for side sleepers. I'm 5'11 and the regular fit like a glove.
However, what's not listed on the specs is that the filling is duck down, not goose. Combined with the entry level 550 fill power and thicker fabrics than pricier bags, this leads to higher weight and lower compressibility overall. From testing in stores, I found most higher end 0 degree down bags to work with my current compression sack as good or better than the +20 synthetic. This Kelty seemed slightly harder to stuff, and a bit larger when compressed. It'd also be nice to have a pillow sleeve and internal storage pocket, but hey, they aren't essential and I'm not complaining at this price.
Ultimately, it's a great bag from a quality brand, well made, very warm, and much MUCH cheaper than others in the same class. Get it, unless you're counting grams or cc's.
I haven't had a chance to experience the water resistance like other reviewers, but I imagine some Nikwax Down Proof would help.
Oh, and I happen to like the color, by the way.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
i had a rei halo bag in my cart and the day i was about to buy that one this came out from kelty. saved me a couple hundred bucks if i can remember correctly.
took this bag to china for 2 weeks backpacking. temps down to slightly below freezing.
i was extremely warm in this bag. had to unzip most nights. granted the temps were above the rating low.
what i love about the bag is the roominess. i'm 6'4" and have been in some bags that have left me feeling cramped. check the specks the waist and foot room are better than most bags on the market and the compressibility is very comparable. i was a little nervous as the goose down rating was in the 600s instead of the 800s like my other bags, but i wasn't disappointed.
only drawback is the dots on the bag. caught a little slack for my bag looking "girly." it's alright... i can handle it.
i have liked kelty fora number of years because of their price and product quality comparison.
thanks kelty for delivering great products at a fraction of the price of other companies.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I have not taken this bag snow camping/backpacking because of the poorly insulated seams. One can reach into the bag with one hand to a seam, and feel absolutely no insulation with the other hand on the outside of the bag- just nylon to nylon. Really large cold spots like this are a concern For a zero degree rated bag, I would be reluctant to use this one. In fact, I plan to contact REI to inquire if maybe this bag is the exception due to manufacture errors.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I have slept comfortably in 7 degree nights as in 53 degree nights in this bag and have yet to get cold. On warmer nights, above freezing, I leave the bag unzipped, if I don't I sweat, but I still do not get the slightest bit cold.
