Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag - Women's:
I bought this bag in '09. Back then the Cat's Meow for women was a darker color, with sky blue on the top part. I looked at the REI reviews for various bags for a long time before heading to a store to check it out. Among the similarly priced and temperature rated synthetic bags, this was the lightest, packed down to the smallest, and was one of the most popular/highest rated women's bags per the online reviews and the store associates. Those reviews have since disappeared when the bag changed to a different color and had a separate entry created.
I was aware of the 3rd party, consistent EN rating that was rolling out at the time, but this bag was not yet EN tested. As a cold sleeper that camps only in spring, summer, and fall, I thought a "below freezing" rating of 25F would be sufficient. I'd have to say, that during early spring nights of 30F, I was "almost" warm. When the EN rating was finally applied to this product, I knew why: it's rated at 34F for women. That would make sense.
So, with the EN rating in mind, this bag does what it's supposed to do. It's comfortable, with neat features such as fleece lined foot box and a fleece hand pocket. On colder nights I bring a fleece blanket with me to cover my upper body and keep in the heat, and all is well.
If you bought this bag to use for nights lower than 30F, consider getting a light weight liner to up the warmth.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag - Women's:
i'm a casual backpacker and car camper in the mid-atlantic region. i was looking for a lightweight, compressible bag that would keep me warm in late fall and early spring. i loved everything about this bag except that i was never warm in remotely cold conditions.the temp rating is 20, but i used it in mid-high 30s and was cold, even with thermal clothing on. i'm not a cold-sleeper: once i warm up, i tend to stay warm while i sleep. this bag simply didn't get me warm, though.i love the handwarmer pocket on the inside. the pocket is useful, and the hood is very easily adjustable. i'm 5'2" and i had plenty of room (enough to put some, but not all, of my clothes at the bottom). the zipper snagged on occasion, but nothing bad. it never bothered me.it compresses quite nicely, but i would still like a bag that compressed down to an even smaller size. this compressed down to about the size of a 1 gallon jug.i really wanted to like this bag. it's cute, light, and has great features. but it's simply worthless under 35 degrees, and questionable below 40.i will be returning it once i find "the one." i'm in no hurry to return it now that it's getting warmer out, though. it would be the perfect warm-weather bag.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag - Women's:
I bought this bag after much research [...] and am glad I did so. For the price of this bag, I am happy with how it performs. The four stars come from:1) The bag is lightweight for a synthetic bag (a must for me) and it will keep you comfortable in 30+ weather (not 20). 2) I'm 5'6" and fit very well in the bag and even had room to move around a bit after I was zipped completely up in and it (with clothes on). 3) The bag is built for a woman. Hip space was ample and I could zip up and stay completely covered from head to toe. This is a great bag for short backpacking stints (i.e. < 1 week). Even though it is synthetic, it has a low weight. Here is why I rated it 4 stars and not 5:1) [...]this bag is not rated accurately[...]! I camped in MT in 25 degree temps (in the open, in a tent, and in a forest service cabin) and I was pretty cold. What helped me out was the sleeping bag liner that I bought for the bag. I run cold anyway, but this bag is definitely not something for the winter, early spring, or late fall. It is not a 20 degree bag.2) I wish it packed down a bit smaller. The bag hogs up quite a bit of space in my pack (although it is nice that it comes with its own stuff sack). 3) The zipper snags - you really have to take your time and be patient w/ getting the zipper up.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag - Women's:
I have used this product on various camping trips. One trip in particular I camped in Zion NP and Spring temps dipped below 30 degrees and I was cold in this sleeping bag. If temperatures are 40 and above, I am totally comfortable. In all cases, I wear long underwear and a hat when I sleep in this bag and I always lay on top of a sleeping pad. The bag has neat features in that there is a fleece handpocket on the inside as well as the glow-in-the-dark zipper pull. I am not sure that the "vaulted footbox" adds warmth to my feet, though. I really like the drawstring hood which I pull tight to keep all of my body heat inside the bag. Overall, though, the quality of this bag is great and I am pleased with how light it is and how well it compacts. I have to give a 4-star rating, despite being occasionally cold, because I generally sleep cold anyway.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag - Women's:
I spent a lot of time researching sleeping bags when I finally decided to upgrade from my old rectangle bag. I think I zipped myself into every bag they had hanging at the store. For this price range, it was one of the lightest and smallest bags. It does take some effort to get the bag into its tiny stuff sack but it is worth it for how small and compact the bag gets! I have found what works best for me is to fold the bag in half lengthwise and then roll it starting at the hood since that is the bulkiest part. I used it about a dozen times last year throughout April to October and even though I am a cold sleeper I was pretty cozy most nights. If it dipped below 35F I usually added my sleeping bag liner for added warmth. Overall this a great synthetic fill bag for the price!

This bag is very roomy and comfortable. Foot box and hood are a good size. It is good if you do not intend to camp in cooler temps. I was cold in all my clothes in 45 degree weather.

Comments about The North Face Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag - Women's:
I used this sleeping bag three times; once in a tent with another person (30 F), once in a tent by myself (30 F), and once without any tent (40 F) and just enjoyed sleeping under the stars. Each night, I slept great! I typically get cold very easily. I was quite comfortable in my sleeping bag. I did however, have a liner inside but most of the night, it was down by my feet.
A few of my friends tried it out and wanted to buy it from me. Of course, I refused. :)

I love this sleeping bag. It is very comfy and warm. Though the coldest I have camped is around 45 F, where I had to leave the zipper open because I was too warm.
