I just felt like a response was required based on the previous reviewer's poor reading comprehension. Just because the unit does not do what the previous reviewer wanted does not warrant a 1 star rating. The unit works perfectly as advertised. The beauty of this design is that it allows full control over your mobile phone via Bluetooth while using a hard-wired connection for the audio. The hard-wire SAVES BATTERY LIFE. I have another unit that streams the audio over Bluetooth and it blows through the battery on most phones in an hour or two. This Bluetooth audio kit is far more preferable to me.
And BTW - it does work with an iPhone. It works with any phone or audio player with a headphone jack.

I bought this because I thought I could steam music from my iphone to the speakers, then i find out by googling that this thing does not work with iphones without hardwiring it. What kind of solution is this?

First of all, do not heed reviews from knuckleheads whose first comment is, "Well, I haven't actually used it yet, but..." That's not a helpful review! Anyway, This thing is seriously lacking in several areas, including quality. After 4 days at Vail, both of the supplied wires(one leading from multi selector to earphones/one leading from multi selector to Iphone) were peeling away from the jacks, leaving exposed wire. That is the main reason I returned it ro REI. Another thing I found out is that the only way you can get music to play from an Iphone is if you pump the volume on your Iphone all the way up. Any less than all the way up and you get this awful interference/static sound blasting in your ears. Also, the same interference would occasionally pump into my ears for no reason at all. I did use the Bluetooth quite often while riding, and that did work pretty well as long as you had the wires run correctly. Music quality? Eh, probably because at max volume on the Iphone you will get distortion. The other negative: no music controls whatsoever. However, with the Iphone you push the multi selector, and after the beep you say into the microphone, "next track," or "pause," or whatever voice control you typically use for your music. It would just be easier if there were button controls for this, as things can get loud near lifts on the mountain, and trying to talk into the mic doesn't always work. Bottom line, the quality is lacking for [$]. Find another option.

Once the tuneups were fitted into my Seam, all is well. My cell goes into an outter pocket of the jacket for calls, and the ipod goes inside on shuffle.
when using a blackberry it froze up when switching programs. Using camera and video cut out the tunes :-(
None the less, im boarding and skiing and participating in conference calls with little issue. having the sound pumped into your brain bucket rules!

I obtained my information from the REI sales person. I him that I needed a wireless connection to my iphone where I have my music. I was told that the little bluetooth connector would fit inside the helmet -- all cables will be inside the helmet and my phone/music source will be wireless. Of course, this is not how this product works. Thus, I have to waste my time to return the product. I don't know why anyone with music on their phone would want this. Everyone that I know that is not my parent's age has music on their phone. My jacket has a pocket for my phone, but I don't want a cable coming out of my helmet - pain when you have to take off the helmet, etc. The bottom line is that the REI sales people should understand this product and not sell it as a solution for people who want to go fully wireless.

Comments about Giro TuneUps Audio Drops with Bluetooth LINK Audio Kit:
Purchased the speakers for use in my also purchase Gyro Seam. Wanted to use it with my IPhone. Bluetooth worked with the phone, but DOES NOT WORK with music. Called the factory and was told that it was not designed to work with IPhone for music. They said the only speakers that would work from them was their wireless speaker system...But isnt that what bluetooth is? Anyway, I asked them if they had a speaker system that would work. they said yes, but you would not skip forward or backwords in music. It would just play. That for this ski season, it was all they could offer. I MIGHT ADD, THAT THE FACTORY SAID THEY HAD NO INVENTORY OF THE WIRELESS UNIT AT ALL. So why not have a better explanation to what is available. Since I purchased both units yesterday at REI, I will take back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SPEAKERS, BUT THE HELMET IS GREAT. But, I did not need a helmet now..just wanted to get it because of the bluetooth, WHICH AGAIN DOES NOT WORK.

I just purchased these yesterday so I haven't yet sikked with them yet but I really like the helmet integration. There are a couple of foam inserts that you remove from the helmet ear covers and you simply slide in the earphones. You just plug in the bluetooth controller into the earhones. The part that I don't care for too much is that you then need to plug the iPod into the bluetooth controller to get music. I have bluetooth music on my phone and I was hoping to get away from the extra cords but the Skullcandy doesn't stream music (no "A2DP") - only calls - so I still need to plug it into my phone or iPod. Oh well - at least the phone battery will last longer without streaming music....

Comments about Giro TuneUps Audio Drops with Bluetooth LINK Audio Kit:
The packaging advertises compatibility with Giro G10 helmets. But a close exam of the G10 S153 helmet (purchased from REI) ear pockets hasn't uncovered any openings for insertion of the speakers. So apparently a secondary purchase (special ear pockets) is necessary. If anyone reading this can tell me what I'm missing in the stock ear pockets or where to get audio compatible replacements that would be great. Otherwise, this product is going back to the store.
