Comments about Black Diamond Couloir Mountaineering Harness:
Light and strong, very comfortable over layers and when walking. Can be adjusted through the legs and waist depending on how many layers you have on. Packs down into the included stuff sack and is about the size of a baseball when in the pack.

This thing is awesome!
It's designed for alpine use and at that it excels - it's super light, packs down to the size of a soda can, the dropabble leg loops go on over crampons, and it's so thin and flexible you'll forget you're wearing it - but I also end up using it for indoor top-ropeing on the way home from work. I've got a stiff padded rock-climbing harness but that doesn't fit in my bag so well as this.
Downsides:
- only two gear loops, both in the front
- the buckle is the old-school doublebacking sort

Comments about Black Diamond Couloir Mountaineering Harness:
Super lightweight, compact, bomber harness. Perfect for alpine mountaineering and ski mountaineering use. Small enough to stuff in a jacket pocket.
Only complaint is the buckle. It is darn tricky to back over itself. Even with my gloves off it is tough. Maybe there is a secret Black Diamond method that I am missing? Once it is on you hardly remember you're wearing it though.
5 stars if not for the buckling issue.

Comments about Black Diamond Couloir Mountaineering Harness:
I got this harness for an upcoming Himalaya peak climb and the prep climbs for this and the design is solid. Lightweight, includes belay loop, easily fits on over your puffy clothes and shells with crampons on, has basic gear loops and a haul loop. The only thing I don't like about this is that the buckle is small and is a pain to get on and off with thick gloves on which is pretty much how I'd need to put it on as it is typically freezing when I use it. You should practice A LOT with gloves before heading out.

May want to size up. I have not used this but wanted to make a note about sizing: All my pants are a 32" waist so I ordered the S/M - described to fit a waist from 28-35". Once it arrived, the s/m barely fit over a pair of pants with the widest possible waist and would definitely not fit over thermals and ski pants.
Otherwise, it packs incredibly small, and very light so I'm looking forward to getting the right size for upcoming ski/climbing season.

Comments about Black Diamond Couloir Mountaineering Harness:
I recently climbed Mt. Hood and Mt. Rainier with the Black Diamond Couloir mountaineering harness and it performed great. Never needed adjustment and fit great. It's easy to put on and tough as nails.
