Comments about Ahnu Elkridge eVent Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I purchased these shoes to replace a pair of well-loved and completely destroyed Merrill Cameleon GTX's (since Merrill changed the design and they are no longer comfortable). I broke them in on a three-week trip to Israel, Turkey and Greece. During the trip I did everything from off-trail running to pounding the streets of Jerusalem, Istambul and Athens. Conditions ranged from the mid-90's to 40 and rain.
The pro's: They are comfy, seem to be waterproof, light, and give very stable traction. They are not too warm to wear in hot weather, but warm enough to keep feet warm in cooler weather.
The con's: The soles have already begun to noticeably deteriorate after only 2 months of use. The leather inside the shoe on the uppers also began to wear. Also, while the eVent material does wick moisture, I noticed that as the moisture made its way out of the shoe, it wicked ugly black stains on the surface of the leather.
Bottom line: While I like the concept of the Ahnu Elkridge eVent Cross-Trainer, I expect much better quality from a shoe at this pricepoint. I am thinking about exchanging them to try another pair. If I do and they are better I will amend my review.

These soles are extremely slippery in wet conditions. Down right dangerous IMO. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!!

These shoes carried me all the way to the top of MT Kilimanjaro. I was crazy about finding my correct shoe. I didnt want the normal high top shoe because they feel heavy and make me tired. And I needed a comfortable shoe to carry me on the 9 day hike with no problems. These worked out perfect. I wore two thick wool socks to summit and my feet were perfectly toasty. In fact, I'm walking around in them now because I love them. Best buy ever.

These are my new Fall/Winter/Spring go to shoes-everyday, work and play. I discovered Ahnu using REI's online catalog. They look good and the specs put them on top. I visited the local store and they felt amazing. Light, supportive, correct volume, correct toe box, correct heel and arch. My feet are a bit weird too. Light, dry, breathable, warm (but not too much). Love them and I tried 5 other big name brands. If they had more cushion in the heel/sole, and the laces held better at one pull, they'd be absolutely perfect.

Comments about Ahnu Elkridge eVent Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I purchased these Thanksgiving weekend after looking for a pair of comfortable, breathable, waterresistant shoes for my everyday use. Living in Northern Wisconsin in the winter is hard on everyday shoes and these worked better than any I've found. I walk about five to eight miles every day in snow, rain, and sun. I walk everything from sidewalks and beaches to backwoods and rocky trails and they have held up wonderfully. I have really been happy with how well they allow my sweaty feet to keep dry and not freeze this past winter. This has been their best pro. I'm planning on getting a second pair soon.

I spent a lot of time searching for quality and comfort. This shoe is very comfortable. Two weeks out of the store, one of the lacing eyelets tore out. I liked the shoe so much I ordered a replacement pair hoping the first experience was a fluke.

Comments about Ahnu Elkridge eVent Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
i purchased these as a replacement for my New Balance 780 town/work shoe which don't feel the same anymore. the Anhu were hands-down the most comfortable shoe in the store. i wore them on a recent pineapple express weekend in Port Townsend Wa, and they were definitely as waterproof as advertized, but after a month of use, the sidewalls seemed to stretch out and the shoe seemed to almost go up an entire size. this made the sides bulge out a bit and then the shoe looked more like a slipper. they were still very comfortable and if i had perhaps purchased a size too small they may have worked out a bit better, but who can anticipate that....maybe you can now. i returned them and paid a few more dimes for the Lowa Renegade, with Thinsulate insoles which take the cake for sure.
