This book is a great handbook for the casual hiker to the avid adventurer. I no longer have a child of the age that this information would be useful, but I have read the book and have passed along the information and a recommendation for the book to many parents. It also is a great gift for expectant parents.

This gives specific guidelines, charts and information for taking your kids into nature. It has a wealth of information for the day tripper and back country adventurer. I love to camp and hike, but needed info on how to bring the kids. This has clothing ideas, meal charts and fantastic tips.
