I LOVE these boots. I bought the Merrell Tetra Launch boots about nine months ago, and liked them for their waterproof durability but always felt they were a bit short on me... I am short myself (5'3") and the calf height never quite worked. These boots are everything I liked about the Tetra Launch and THEN some. They are about 2 inches taller and even more gorgeous, and fit me much better in the calf than the other ones ever did. I have a difficult time finding boots large enough to fit my calves, which are disproportionately large for my small feet, and though these were tough to zip up the first few times, they have broken in really nicely. They look great with jeans tucked in, and with some more casual dresses as well. I am so thrilled with this purchase--I cannot wait for it to rain!

I have disaster feet (very wide, very flat, different sizes, orthopedic nightmares) and bumped up half a size to accommodate for width and the 9.5 fits like a dream. They're so cushy! They feel totally great and I could walk for miles in them. Right out of the box, they were already much more comfortable than shoes I've owned for months.

I live in a city and don't own a car, so I do a LOT of walking. These boots seem like they'll see me through the winter very well! They're comfortable and seem very durable. Though they're pretty tough boots, the leather is amazingly soft. Wearing them is a dream and a pleasure.

And, best of all: they're waterproof! And completely cute with jeans or a skirt.

Calves may run a bit wide--I have big calves so they're fine on me, but may be too big for people with normal sized calves. They will almost definitely accommodate a pair of jeans though, if you like wearing jeans tucked into your boots.

I bought these boots b/c they were waterproof and I was planning a trip to europe at christmastime when i knew it would be wet and cold. The boots are very cute considering how comfortable and functional they are and I agree with other posters about liking the slightly distressed leather look.

HOWEVER, the zipper is not waterproof. This may seem obvious to others but when I saw waterproof I assumed this meant I could go through water as high as the boots--not so, my friends. I had to wade through flood waters in Venice and as soon as I was in more than a few inches of water, it came rushing in at the zippers.

Lastly, I did add some Dr. Scholl's insole cushions to make these extra cushy, and they are now extremely comfortable. I highly recommend these boots, just know you can't go trudging through more than a couple inches of water in them.

After two years of searching for a pair of tall brown leather boots, I found what I needed with these.

First, with lightweight stability and comfort (a trademark I have found with the Merrell's I own), I don't worry about what I'll be doing in these boots.

Second, the style is a great blend of femininity and ruggedness! I've worn them with jeans, khakis, and my brown wool skirt.

I like the character of broken in leather, so scuffs and scratches are welcome to find their home in the soft leather of these boots. If you prefer your leather to stay looking new, you may want to see these in person before you buy.

I've walked several miles in them and am satisfied I'll be comfortable on my feet for hours at a time.

The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was that I found the boot rubbed at my heel (I tried two sizes with same result). However, a pair of adhesive heel grips has helped the fit.

I am glad I bought these in the store, because the finish of the first pair was mismatched ... the left boot was a shade different than the right boot. Perhaps a fluke, but I would have been disappointed to have ordered that pair.

Overall, I am very satisfied!

This is the first shoe/boot that hasn't bothered my feet after hours of walking! I practically live in them.

I work on my feet and walk miles in my leisure hours/vacation. A previous injury causes chronic pain and a swollen leg. I have tried every comfort shoe/sandal out there (including other Merrell styles) and none of them compare to these boots. I can even zip them around my enlarged calf.

These are not only the best I have found for my feet and legs they are stylish too! I would love to see this boot in a wedge or higher heel and glossier leather for even better dress potential.

Merrell is over and above. I got a pair of Tetra boots second hand, and the zpippers broke. I called them to ask how much it would cost to repair them, and stressed I did NOT buy the boots new. They told me to just send them in and emailed a form. I chose Tetra Straps as the style if they did not have the Tetra style and expected to be sent a cost estimate for repair, or maybe a partial credit for replacement. Instead they sent me these GORGEOUS new boots. It is clear Merrell must have a lifetime warranty. What a company, and what great boots! I am going to buy a pair for my daughter to absolve my guilt at getting a replacement pair I really did not deserve.

Service and delivery comments:

I ordered the boots online even though they were back ordered & also I tried to see if a store could order them from another store. I was surprised to have them both delivered on the same day; it only took 3 days. I tried on both pairs. They were the same size, but one pair the shaft was tighter. These are beautiful boots. The customer service was helpful inaddition to the store employee. I wondered why though the local store here didn't stock them since they are weather proof but the California store did.

I bought these in black and I love them! I've been on the hunt for a casual but cute pair of black boots that are waterproof and I found them! They are a little pricey, but I feel like the cost-per-wear will make it totally worth it. I've been wearing them non-stop and they don't hurt my feet after a day of walking.
They are a little tight on my calves (big calves) with the jeans tucked it, but I think over time they will stretch to fit perfectly! So cute and so glad I convinced my hubby to buy them for me :)

These boots are fantastic! I wanted a pair of, stylish boots that I could wear with everything, and would also be good in snow/slush/rain, come what may. I also was looking for a pair which didn't make my size 9 feet look clownishly large. These were everything I wanted and then some. They are super comfortable, and are great for long days on my feet. I initially balked at the price, and finally treated my self as a birthday gift. Honestly, worth every penny - and I'm frugal to a fault when it comes to apparel.
