Comments about REI Muir Woods Fleece Socks:
i'm one of those people who can't sleep good if my feet aren't happy. i have some pretty good backpacking/hiking socks but they aren't great for sleeping in. so i set out to find a pair of socks for me and my wife to sleep in during them occasional freezing nights. it's a pair of socks so i can't get too dramatic about them, but i'll just say my feet stayed warm for the night and the socks were loose enough so i didn't feel like i was restricted. you could wear 'em with boots also i guess, but i have other socks for that duty. the wife loved her pair also (happy b'day, kitten)

Comments about REI Muir Woods Fleece Socks:
I couldn't get BLACK wool hiking socks (off-season used as slippers). So...decided to try polar fleece socks as an alternative at Sales Rep Brian's suggestion!
Wow! all of the above--comfortable, soft, wicky, lightweight. Can stuff into outdoor shoes, if I need a quick trip outdoors for paper, mail, laundry, etc. Most important: match my red/black plaid p.j. bottoms! Se...xy!
Drying time/sturdiness: do not know yet

Comments about REI Muir Woods Fleece Socks:
A friend of mine bought me a pair of these one Christmas and I was so sad when I wore them thin a few years later in the heels. When these went on sale, I bought four pairs. I wear a size 8 1/2 in shoes and these fit good on the loose side. But I also have narrow feet so I think that is why they are loose. But they stay on and I don't feel like they are too big. I wear them mostly at home and around the house during the winter. If you drag your feet as I do, you will wear out the heel. So pick up your feet.
If I wanted to wear them in boots or shoes, I might try the XS next time.

Comments about REI Muir Woods Fleece Socks:
Use these to keep feet warm. They are a thin light weight fleece and more like a sock than a fleecey slipper type foot wear. Last year I received a pair of Acorn Fleece socks which were a little thicker fleece and were more "slipper" like. I am comparing these fleece socks to Acorn. I was very pleased with Acorn brand which was purchased at REI and guess I was expecting the same kind of sock. The Muir Glen sock fleece material flattens.
If would not recommend these to a friend - but would recommend the Acorn brand instead. better quality in my opinion.
I wear a women's size 9-9.5 and the medium fits just right.

Comments about REI Muir Woods Fleece Socks:
My husband is diabetic, and his feet are always freezing, even in the summer. Our daughters bought him these socks for Christmas, and now, for the first time, he has warm feet. We've tried so many other socks, and, finally, it's like a miracle!

Comments about REI Muir Woods Fleece Socks:
The REI Muir Glen socks are great. I've had Sahalie's Wild Thang (now Acorn brand) socks for year and they've been great. However, they've only lasted a year before developing holes. REI's fleece socks feel of the same quality (yet a slightly smaller fit) and I'm hoping will last longer!
