Comments about Serfas Waterproof Breathable Bike Shoe Covers - Unisex - '10 Overstock:
I commute about 1 hour each way. When it rains I hate it when my shoes fill up and water squishes between my toes. These shoe covers prevented that from happening during a light rain, but the tops of my shoes still got damp.
The best thing about this product is that it was inexpensive, about half the price of the next cheapest shoe covers.
The worst thing is that it's not waterproof, which is distressing for a product advertised as "waterproof." Okay for a light rain, but in a downpour your feet will probably still get soaked.
The next worst thing is that they're not as comfortable as they should be. There's a gap between my ankle and the top of the shoe covers. Water can leak through the gap. There are some rough edges along the top that slightly irritate my legs as the material brushes past while I am riding. Something with a light elastic sleeve might work better.
Sizing was not well described at the time of my purchase. The L/XL size is a snug fit on my size 43 Shimano road shoes.
I would recommend this to a friend if he lived in an area of light rainfall. Even then, it would have to be a budget-conscious friend. Hopefully the more expensive waterproof shoe covers are more waterproof than these.
