I bought this knowing that I had a retractable cover and was hoping that it would work with it. Unfortunately there was too much pressure on the railing, so I found an alternate mounting location inside of the bed and the rack works perfect (2012 ford f150 (see pictures). I think this rack will be good for driving normal roads getting to the trails, but if you were to off road with it in your truck (not sure how good it would hold up). The way I have it mounted, will work perfect for what I need it for. Very fast and secure way to mount your bikes in the bed. I also bought the wheel mounts from thule that work great to keep my wheels secure.

Love this rack. Once set up, this rack installs in your truck bed in only a couple of minutes and gets you on the road or back home from the trail quick. Its construction is lightweight and durable and just feels like good quality though I think the main bar could be a bit beefier. Nevertheless, this rack performs.
