The Völkl Gotama skis dominate big-mountain powder lines thanks to their burly 106mm waists and plentiful backcountry prowess.

These skis were made for the deepest of the deep, the fluffiest of the fluff, and the softest of the soft, but they also transition well onto groomed runs
Multilayer core places dense ash underfoot for excellent screw retention; soft poplar wood in the remainder of the ski creates snappy responsiveness
Tough Box construction sheathes the multilayer wood core in composite and fiberglass, promoting resilience and snap
Carbon layer in the bottom of the ski stabilizes ride and enhances durability
Stiff flex zone in front adds stability, and medium flex underfoot offers a smooth transition to the soft tail that aids in turning on groomers and maneuvering in pow
Elongated, low-profile (ELP) reverse camber creates a gradual rise in the ski from the boot toe toward the tip and from the heel toward the tail
ELP is high enough to float in deep powder, yet it also creates consistent contact for effective turning when the ski is put on edge

These skis take the cake in the fat, reverse camber category by far. I've tried several others including the 2010/2011 Icelantic, Salomon and K2 equivalents and was beginning to develop the opinion that making the change from All-Mountain 85's to a fat 105 ski was overrated. Then I rode these puppies. The float was fantastic, they charged the crud with ease and for the first time I felt completely confident in the trees. My experience with them was so good that I went out and bought them the next day. I'm 6' 6", 240 lbs and ski aggressively. Highly recommended for a heavy/tall person looking for a STIFF ski.

With these skis you don't need separate downhill and powder skis as these skis do it all. You can ride the thick powder with ease and fly down the groomers too.

I scoffed when the rocker camber skis came out; thought my Volkl Tigersharks were the ultimate ski. Bought these Gotmas to replace Volant V2 Chubbs that were beating me to death on powder day afternoons. I'm absolutely delighted in the all around performance of these skis. Superior shock absorption. They handled early morning frozen cord to afternoon slush moguls with ease.

Eldora Mtn with marginal snow, no problem! These boards are a BLAST! We just need some powder to have more fun.
