With insistent traction and broad flotation, the Tubbs Mountaineer 36 snowshoes go far into the backcountry and up mountain terrain.

  • 6000-series aluminum frames are engineered to maximize flotation, maneuverability and tracking, while minimizing weight
  • Tapered tails optimize clearance and stability on steep pitches, powder and wind-packed snow
  • ArcTec+™ thermoplastic urethane decking is puncture and abrasion resistant to -40°F; decking is also made with a zero-scrap policy, with all scraps reused
  • ActiveFit+™ bindings provide a padded, supportive fit that surrounds foot for enhanced stability, comfort and control; webbing cinch straps are easy to use
  • Pivot system under instep delivers lateral flex and side slope responsiveness to help feet stay in a natural position; system also limits overrotation for sure-footed descents
  • Full step rotation maximizes crampon penetration, and the tail drops to shed snow, minimizing fatigue and discomfort
  • Carbon steel crampons underfoot bite deeply from heel strike through toe thrust; sharp climbing, traversing and braking teeth ensure stability on ice and hardpack
  • Heel lifts reduce calf fatigue and make extended climbs easier and more efficient; lifts lay flat when not in use
  • Tubbs Mountaineer snowshoes fit up to men's US size 13 hiking or technical climbing boots

    Used x-country, 14er approaches
    Not the lightest, but I'm heavy at 240lbs + equipment, so they worked out great.
    Heel lift was great heading up steep terrain. The binding is extremely easy to fit and use.
