Explore the backcountry with the Tubbs Mountaineer 25 snowshoes, which supply fantastic flotation and aggressive traction to keep you trekking as you explore mountainous terrain.

  • 6000-series aluminum frames are engineered to maximize flotation, maneuverability and tracking, while minimizing weight
  • Tapered tails optimize clearance and stability on steep pitches, powder and wind-packed snow
  • ArcTec+™ thermoplastic urethane decking is puncture- and abrasion-resistant to -40°F; decking is also made with a zero-scrap policy, with all scraps reused
  • ActiveFit+™ bindings provide a padded, supportive fit that surrounds foot for enhanced stability, comfort and control; webbing cinch straps are easy to use
  • Pivot system under instep delivers lateral flex and side slope responsiveness to help feet stay in a natural position; system also limits overrotation for sure-footed descents
  • Full step rotation maximizes crampon penetration, and the tail drops to shed snow, minimizing fatigue and discomfort
  • Carbon steel crampons underfoot bite deeply from heel strike through toe thrust; sharp climbing, traversing and braking teeth ensure stability on ice and hardpack
  • Heel lifts reduce calf fatigue and make extended climbs easier and more efficient; lifts lay flat when not in use
  • Tubbs Mountaineer snowshoes fit up to men's US size 13 hiking or technical climbing boots
  • Tubbs Mountaineer 25 snowshoes' recommended load specification includes weight of hiker with gear

Comments about Tubbs Mountaineer 25 Snowshoes:

I have two pairs of these shoes, have used them aggressively on steep hardpack as well as deep powder, & crossing icy streams. Love the easy in & out. Good flex & lightweight. I did break the strap that holds the shoe swivel to the frame, after two years. Brought it back, new pair will be shipped directly to my house, no charge. Awesome shoe, awesome store.

      Service and delivery comments:

      Customer service cheerful & efficient.

Comments about Tubbs Mountaineer 25 Snowshoes:

I use snowshoes at 10,000 elv. reguarly. I already have 25's and 30's in the wilderness series, but wanted a little more aggressive campron along with the heal lift. These have worked out well.

This product is meant for snow, not ice climbing.
Great snowshoe if you like back country, knee deep powder and real mountains.

Comments about Tubbs Mountaineer 25 Snowshoes:

The tubular frames can bridge gaps in hard/icy snow causing the crampons to lose traction, especially when following others' tracks. I found this out the hard way by taking a wild slide down a slope that everyone else with different snowshoes had negotiated easily. They work fine for flatter terrain or newer snow. For mountaineering under all conditions stick with MSR.
