With a women-specific design, the Atlas 923 Elektra snowshoes provide excellent comfort and stability for exploring rolling terrain and off groomed trails.

Tough frames are crafted from 6061 aluminum to create a stiff yet lightweight chassis
Designed for a woman's stance and stride, the optimized nose and tail shapes provide a balanced platform for stable footing and easy walking
Free-Rotating™ Suspension lets the binding rotate much further forward than previous Atlas designs, freeing up the stride and reducing the amount of tail flip
The result of the design is that freedom of movement is increased, the toe crampon can bite into snow better and the foot is allowed a more natural rotation
Abrasion-resistant, lightweight Nytex™ nylon decks stay flexible when cold and stand up to the elements for lasting use
Wrapp™ bindings use a single-pull, continuous webbing design that tightens snugly with a light tug; bindings also cradle feet and arches for a secure, comfortable fit

Used these snowshoes for the first time today up on the Pacific Crest Trail. My husband won these snowshoes when we attended the REI snowshoeing class in December. We also attended the demo day last weekend at White River and tried on this brand as well as two others. I was hoping to get a pair with side traction rails for more stability but figured free is free so I went ahead and used these. There hasn't been much snow the last few weeks so for the first 3/4 mile, it was fairly icy and slippery and these snowshoes were great. I didn't slip once, I didn't have to adjust my gait or balance to compensate for the icy conditions, the traction could not have been better. Going up and down was solid, the crampons did their job. I didn't feel slippage when we did get off the trail and I was walking on side angles; even without side crampons, which I was very surprised about. I was really impressed with these snowshoes.
Remember, I am a beginner and these sure seem to be everything I need. Perhaps one day if we really get into snowshoeing and decide to get into more technical hiking, I may need a heel lift and more side traction but I couldn't be more impressed with how well these performed for me.
