With great value and performance, the Atlas 825 snowshoes supply traction and flotation for romping about in the snow on flat terrain and packed trails.

    • Tough frames are crafted from 6061 aluminum to create a stiff yet lightweight chassis and are shaped to facilitate a natural stride
    • Free-Rotating™ Suspension lets the binding rotate much farther forward than previous Atlas designs, freeing up the stride and reducing the amount of tail flip
    • The result is that freedom of movement is increased, the toe crampon can bite into snow better and the foot is allowed a more natural rotation
    • Abrasion-resistant, lightweight Nytex™ nylon decks stay flexible when cold and stand up to the elements
    • Strapp™ bindings offer straightforward, no-fuss use; webbing tightens snugly with a quick pull and heel straps secure feet
    • Steel toe crampons supply sure-footed traction on snowy terrain; heel crampons increase traction while traversing and descending
    • Atlas 825 snowshoes' recommended load specification includes weight of hiker with gear

Please note: Atlas products can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

    Comments about Atlas 825 Snowshoes:

My recently purchased Atlas 825 snowshoes are one of the worst products of any type that I have ever purchased. They have 3 major flaws:
    1) The straps are poorly designed and shoddily manufactured, so that they are difficult to get properly tightened and they don't stay tight for long. In particular, the heel strap is supposed to be fastened with a buckle but the prong is WAY too large for the eyelets so that the buckle is continually becoming unfastened. This is inexcusably shoddy production. I've had a shoe fall off multiple times on every trip that I've taken.
    2) Because of the location of all the buckle in the heel strap, these snowshoes are very difficult to put on unless sitting down, which is a nuisance since there isn't always snow in the parking lot.
    3) Most importantly, Atlas has eliminated more than half the cleats from what they had on earlier version of their 800-series snowshoes. While they still give good traction going uphill, there is little traction going downhill. I've found myself doing some unintended short glissades on hills that were never a problem in the past.
The 825 snowshoes might be OK for taking a short walk around a local park after a snowstorm, but they definitely aren't satisfactory for heading out into the wilderness.
