Comments about Light My Fire Spork - '10 Overstock:
Perfection. It doesn't get any better. I bought one years ago and liked it so much I bought a four pack at [...] a few months later. I just bought four more from REI Outlet since they were on sale. I have three workplaces and I keep one in each office. I also keep one in my backpack. I got more so I could keep a couple in my backpacking equipment and also at home. I love these things. I've never had one break. I don't know how these things could break under normal usage. Maybe if you gave one to a starving gorilla. I don't know. I like the various bright colors. I absolutely love having separate ends for the fork and the spoon. I hate the traditional spork designs that combine the fork and the spoon into one end. That bugs the crud out of me. The tines on those designs aren't long enough to be useful and they don't feel that great on the lips when using it as a spoon. Having seperate ends solves that problem. The spoon is deep enough and has a pleasant feeling shape. These come in various sizes as well. I've got a larger one I keep in my camping gear. They are ultra light weight ( 0.2 oz!!!) and fun to use. I would like to see a lightweight titanium version. LMF says the plastic is heat resistant, but I haven't tried to see how much heat these things could take. I've put them in boiling water to stir in some noodles and not noticed any change in the plastic at all. No sign of any weakening or malformation. You wouldn't have to worry at all about melting a titanium model though. I'm sure that a titanium model would weigh more than this ultralight plastic, but probably not much more so as to be objectionable. At any rate, these things are awesome.

Good spork, I have several in various packs, vehicles, boats, etc. They're good for average use but not built to take abuse - if you want something bulletproof go for REI TiWare or something similar. These do however work well for MREs, Mountain House or other dehydrated foods, making sandwiches (easily spreads mustard, mayo, jam, jelly, peanut butter, etc.). Additionally, these work well in hot water for making cocoa, coffee, tea, cooking pasta, etc.

This spork is good for what it does. I use this spork everyday at work for lunch. It also occasionally makes a trip to local deli, etc. Most of the time I use either fork or spoon and not both at the same time, which can be messy. The thing I particularly like about this spork is the fine surface texture. It seems to make wiping off easier. I like the vivid color as well. Mine was orange and it was easy to find on a messy picnic table in dark.
It was doing fine for a year for regular use... eating soups, pasta, rice, etc. Then I tried to eat super-dense bread pudding straight out of fridge yesterday and it snapped in half in the middle. For the cost (even at the full price), I think I got fair time from it, but I learned it eventually breaks unless I baby it. I will still use this spork for daily lunch and casual camping and picnics where the chance of getting it lost is high (it happens to me more often than I'd like to admit) and reliability is not the most important thing.

Great all-in-one utensil! I have been using 6 of these daily for about 3 years. Unlike other reviewers, I have not had any break though my family seems to have lost one or two, so I'm back to buy a few more. My experience is that they have been very durable despite the abuse that we've put them through. I put them in the dishwasher all the time. I use them daily for my lunch box for work and keep one in my purse at all times to avoid having to take plastic utensils when eating out. Overall a great product at a great outlet price. I highly recommend!
The only downside is the knife part can be difficult to use because it is hard to cut (sawing motion) without having a second utensil to hold down the food in place. If you can hold the food down, though, the knife part works just fine for being made of plastic!
I give my highest recommendation to this product!

The sides of the spoon are such that when you use it it cuts the sides of your lips.

These are awesome because they are really easy to clean with a tiny bit of water. They also fit really easily into your pack and you always have a fork and a spoon. They are also really tough and don't bend. They are a little short when your trying to scoop from backpacking food bag but oh well.

I like this spork, but I have owned 2 of them where 1 of the inner tines broke off at the exact same place. 1 broke when I was using it to peel an orange. Kind of weird. I actually like this spork and use one every day in my lunch bag. If yours survives the first week, it will probably be fine.

Bought this for my Yosemite camping trip last weekend. Bought 2 on purpose as I can forsee the difficulty of using a knife without a fork. It's made out of plastic so you may not want to stab it in food that is very very hot. It's 3-in-1 design is convenent but not effective. Like I mentioned before, I couldn't use the knife side to cut without using another spork to stabilize my food. Since I have to bring 2 sporks, I might as well bring a spork and a knife. Also, after I finished my soup I had to grab the spoon part of the spork to eat. So I contaminated my spoon with my dirty hand. If you're looking for a simple cheap spork for camping trip this would be the one. But I think I'm going to get a separate set of titanium spork + knife instead.
