The versatile Pearl Izumi Barrier women's convertible bike jacket is a great choice for chilly morning rides that often turn into warm afternoons.

Lightweight ELITE Barrier fabric is wind- and water-resistant as well as extremely breathable; soft micromesh inner collar adds warmth and helps manage moisture for comfort
1-piece integrated sleeves remove to convert jacket into a vest; stow sleeves in rear zippered pocket
Full-length zipper helps you regulate body temperature; includes a protective draft flap to keep wind out and warmth in
Semifitted design enhances performance and prevents fabric from flapping in slipstream

I bought this jacket for biking & running, it is FANTASTIC! I love being able to take the sleeves off and put them in the back pocket (easy enough to do WHILE you are running!). You can't be much more visible than the screaming yellow color! I've worn it all threw fall & winter in New England ( and I'm sure it will be used in the spring too!). It's been a great investment for my outdoor activities!

I bought this jacket about 1 year ago, and it is still the best purchase I have ever made at REI (and believe me, I make a lot of purchases at REI). I wear this jacket every day for bike commuting, except in very cold weather. It looks great and feels great. It doesn't bunch up in the front like some other jackets do, and it fits really well. It is breathable AND waterproof-- a perfect combination. The two front pockets are big enough to keep keys, bike lights, thin gloves, and a wallet. It converts very easily from jacket to vest, which means that I can wear the sleeves to stay warm on the cooler morning commutes but take the sleeves off on the warmer afternoon commutes. I cannot say enough good things about this jacket!!

After reviewing other reviews, i decided to order a size up and i am glad i did. I am 5'6, 120 lbs and usually wear a small, but bumped up to a size medium. The medium is perfect and slim on the body...nice cut and doesn't look bulky or unattractive. I got the yellow color and for foggy days and dusk or dawn riding, this is perfect to be seen in.

This jacket [...] is the best cycling clothing purchase I've ever made. Extremely comfortable and protects you from the elements. Used it for the Ride to Conquer Cancer and we had horrible weather and it stood up to it. The versatility to turn it into a vest is also great. I highly recommend this jacket!

I bought this for reflectability while riding and/or running. Sadly, it runs VERY small. I am a normal size 4/6 sm/med. I bought the medium and it is like a straight jacket. I have a long waist, it fits but barely when I am standing. i doubt it will take a ride. I am thin boned and this is snug on my arms...I like that, but not the tightness of the small shoulder cut. Too tight....going back for something else.

Light, soft and comfortable. Wore it in rainy weather during 2 hours and did not get wet. Excellent wind breaker, barely got chilly in very long descent. Breathable in warmer conditions.
