I wore the shoes about 2 weeks and then the toe bumpers started to come loose were they were glued to the toe cap. One has come off about 25% the other has just started to peel off. I still wear them to kick around in and when I mow the yard but would not trust taking them on a trail. I used them on flat dirt trails and concrete. Too bad they felt comfortable and had good support.

I bought these for a 3-week vacation in the Rocky Mountains. I wanted to run the trails near Boulder and Estes Park. These are comfortable shoes and just fine for hiking and backpacking. They are definitely not running or trail running shoes. I ended up just using my normal running shoes which worked out just fine. I used these shoes for day hikes and a little scrambling up some mountains.

I like the shoe, mainly because it's comfortable. A good walking shoe and also good for hiking.
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery is on time, but in the box the shoes are wrong sized. Sent email to customer service, the response doesn't admit anyone made mistake, and said since the shoe is discontinued so the only option is return the shoe, as if the time I spent online ordering and driving to their store to pick up doesn't worth anything. Don't list any size that's not available please!

I bought these on sale at REI outlet. Only wore these to work (I have a desk job) and after about 3 weeks the fabric on the heel started ripping and the whole boot started to fall apart. From a light use? (I consider wearing this to work everyday not even hiking in those - a light use) Returned them. Will never buy Hi-tec products ever again.

I like these more for the way they look. I wanted something I could wear everyday. When they started wearing out they didn't look as nice but going back to the store none of the new ones I saw seemed to fit the casual purpose I wanted them for. They lasted a good 6 months of home and work, so I'm on here to snag another pair since they're reliable, look nice, and they're on sale!

The shoes seem a bit small. My toes pushed up against the front. After wearing them for a few hours, however, I did like the soles (they are high quality) and the overall comfort is good.
Not a bad value at all. Even if they don't work well for trail running, at least I got some nice kicks that will last for many years.
