I'd had my eye on this bag for some time in anticipation of an upcoming trip to Argentina. As I couldn't find it carried in two or three REI stores that I have checked out, I finally ordered it over the internet. On previous trips to Argentina, luggage was a challenge. The international flight allows one 50# bag, but domestic flights in Argentina only allow two 33# (15kg) bags, with significant overcharges for a single 50# bag. Most larger bags loose their structural integrity when packed only half full. This bag has compression straps that attach either on the top or the far side of the bag which allows for at least a 50% reduction in volume without apparent compromise to structural integrity. This should allow for easy "bag within a bag" packing. Additionally it is fairly light so you don't use up a lot of your baggage allowance on suitcase weight and is long enough to easily allow 4-piece fly rods to be carried inside should quirky security personel disallow them as carry-on. (Obviously you have to figure this out before checking the bag). It appears to be extremely well made, but haven't had opportunity to subject it airline handling yet.

I use this product to carry my work and professional clothing on trips around the world. I am a field service technician. I even pack a few tools in the side zippered compartment that I can't fit in my tool bag.

This duffle is spacious, easy to pack, tracks behind you wonderfully, and is easy to transport through airports anywhere.

Durability is also important in my line of work. This duffle stands up to some of the worst abuse I've ever seen.

Yes, I would recommend this duffle to anyone!!!

This item is currently traveling around France with my daughter. She packed for a 7 week study abroad program and successfully got everything to fit; we did then have to take some things out because it was over the airline weight limit, but that wasn't Osprey's fault. Lots of separate compartments for items, durable zippers, light weight and easy to maneuver. We also purchased the smaller duffle for carry on and it's great as well.
