Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
This is a product where the concept is great, but the execution is poor.
I purchased these gloves for use with cool weather drives. dashes between the car and buildings and dashes between buildings on a campus. The ability to keep my hands warm and still use my smartphone in these contexts was a key closer.
Thats the concept.
The execution leaves a lot to be desired.
In order to use of your smartphone with these gloves I found that I had to get good contact between the e-zones and my fingertips of my thumb and forefinger. To get that functionality, I had to get a pair that fit relatively snug on my fingers. The net result was that I when I tried to wear/use them outside of the store, I found the fit so tight and the fabric so unyielding that they constricted circulation in my fingers.
So after a few minutes of wear, I find that my fingers are cold.
So what good are gloves that make your fingers cold?
Beyond that I found the workmanship on my pair of gloves was poor. After 5 wearings-- less than 2 weeks after the original purchase-- the seam between the thumb and the palm had already opened up.
I am returning them.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
I bought these gloves at the beginning of the season. For the first month or two, I thought they were great. I mostly used them as a glove liner. I loved being able to use my smartphone with them on. Well, after about two months, they started to not work all of the time. Then after another month, the ones on the right hand never work completely. They were great while they worked, but now they're pretty much useless. I'd be better off just cutting the tips off of an old pair of gloves.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
Low bulk and nice contour fit. Not a cold weather glove, but does keep your skin covered. Superior to knit fingerless gloves I've used... the silicone dot grips prevent "soap bar in the shower" maneuvers with your phone!
The size of your fingerprint is increased a bit so it does make operations such as text screen input a little less accurate, but gestures work fine. My primary use is for using the camera on my iPhone. It is also is a comfortable driving glove that allows screen input when the phone is in the dashboard mount.
Would have been a fun touch to have a red LED fingertip for "ET, please call home" applications.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
I bought these gloves hoping I could take photos on my iphone at a pro football game in 35 degree weather. I spent most of my time wishing I had a REAL pair of gloves! Since my hands were freezing and never came out of my coat pockets, there weren't any photos taken that day. I'll probably never use them because if its cold enough to use gloves, these most definitely won't be the ones I'll be taking with me. Their tech-savvy purpose just doesn't outweigh practicality.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
This is a great pair of gloves for all your touch screen devices...The only thing I found difficult was typing on my cell phone keys because of the seams on the fingers, I kept hitting the wrong keys. But works great for touch-screen keys.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
Great for moderate dry/cool weather use, but definitely not for rough use in cold/wet weather. The E-tips started to fray after a couple of fall camping trips, so I now I just use mine for going to work or running errands. I still recommend these for anyone who has to wait for a commuter train in the winter, but that's about it.
I like the fit of these and haven't run into the problems others seem to have with the seams. A little patience is needed for using touch screens with them, but that is to be expected.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
I have these gloves in both black and blue and LOVE them! For those complaining about their warmth...I don't believe they are meant for shoveling snow in 20 degree weather. I use them for driving (great grips!) and for watching fall sporting events (high school field hockey and football games). They fit snugly, are quite stylish, and keep my hands warm while using my touch screen. While those around me sit bare-handed with red fingers from the cold, my hands remain nice and warm. Also, I have received many compliments on them.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
These are good gloves for going from the office to your car, or to get from class to class and still be able to text. If it's below 30 deg. F, you're best off keeping your hands in your pockets and pulling them out to use your phone. The touchscreen tips work remarkably well. These are definately not cold-weather gloves, and are a bit expensive to be used as inserts.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
I received a pair of these gloves for Christmas so I can't speak to the durability others mentioned yet. The gloves look nice and they fit fine. I didn't experience a new to get a really tight pair in order for them to work with my iPhone 4S. As a tech glove, it seems to do its job. But that's about all the good I can say for these.
They are not remotely warm. I wasn't expecting them to be super warm, but I thought they'd do something for warmth.
But my single biggest complaint is the grip. It's lousy. I've dropped my phone multiple times now because its slipped right out of the glove. I will be returning these.

Comments about The North Face Etip Gloves:
bought these hoping to use as a liner for ski gloves... allowing me to use a phone/ipod on the lift ride, but the gloves are a little thick for a liner and too thin for a cold weather glove. i agree with the post before, great for the commuter who needs to cut off the edge of cold and still use a device while waiting for mass transit
