Mountain Hardwear Lamina -15°F regular sleeping bag uses insulation designed to provide high loft, durability, softness and compressibility appropriate for damp, cold and freezing conditions.

  • Lightweight Thermic Micro™ insulation is manufactured to produce a consistent, dense sheet of insulation that eliminates cold spots
  • Made from a combination of hollow and solid staple fibers, the fill has excellent loft retention, and is durable, soft and compressible
  • With a slightly wider cut to give you extra room to move inside the bag, the winter mummy cut efficiently maximizes warmth without constriction
  • Welding stabilizes the fill without sewing through the bag, eliminating moisture penetration points and maximizing loft
  • Insulation is laid in a wave shape, enhancing loft and increasing thermal efficiency; offset welds increase stability and loft
  • Insulated draft tube isn't sewn through and extends to bottom of bag to eliminate cold spots
  • Face gasket and ergonomic draft collar seal out cold air
  • Full-length, 2-way zipper with locking slider is backed by wide, antisnag binding tape
  • Insulated zipper gusset seals in heat at base of zipper
  • Comfort footbox is shaped to allow feet to rest naturally; shape preserves loft and allows insulation to drape close to feet for more warmth
  • Interior zippered pocket at shoulder is great for stowing small necessities such as your watch or lip balm, alleviating middle-of-the-night fumbling

        DO NOT BUY. My wife gave me this bag for a trip to Nepal. It kept me plenty warm, but I had to fight the zipper jamming in the nylon every time I tried to open or close it. Finally one night it jammed so badly I had to use my knife to clear the jam. This is when REI's 100 percent return policy is so great. They took it back and refunded my money. So, I'll buy another cold weather bag from REI, but not made by Mountain Hardware.

          I am a native California girl. I am used to sun during all four seasons. I am now in school in Vermont. I have never experienced a cold like this. I need the best and warmest of all things. My Lamina sleeping bag is just that. I was warm and snuggly during the coldest nights and it didnt break my back during the hike. I definately recommend this pack.

            I used this bag for a June Kilimanjaro climb. I was worried that it would be too warm at the bottom of the mountain and too cold at the top, but it ended up working out great. I added a tiny liner(+55 degree rated) during the last night before summiting, but I could have easily worn more layers instead. It also packs super small!

            If you're tall, make sure you get the long version, though. I'm 6'1", and the long fit great.
