These windproof, highly water-resistant Pearl Izumi AmFIB bike tights protect critical areas from the elements when riding in foul weather better suited for ducks.

At the front, back of calf and butt areas, ELITE soft-shell fabric offers an ideal mix of wind resistance, water resistance and breathability for a variety of conditions
At the rear top part of legs, Pearl Izumi ELITE Thermal Fleece stretch fabric transfers moisture to the outer surface for fast evaporation and all-day comfort
Brushed inner surface traps body heat while dual layer yarn technology transfers moisture away from the skin so you stay warm and dry
Ankle zippers with 8 in. opening allow easy on/off over bike shoes; internal draft flaps and zipper garages combine to seal out moisture

These are very nice tights for COLD weather. I commute daily in Minneapolis and use these when the temp dips below 20 f. When it's this cold the AmFib tights keep my legs toasty. I've even used them at -15 f and felt fine. Above 20 f I find them too warm. I actually prefer my legs a bit cool and I overheat above 20. When it's 20-50 I wear Izumi's Elite Thermals, which are not as thick/warm and thus more comfortable for me.

I'm a clydesdale who wears a 38 waist 34 long pants. The XXL fits perfectly (in both AmFib and Elite tights).

Fantastic water resistance, wicking away, wind blocking, breathability and warmth. Perhaps too much warmth. These are for more extreme conditions: very cold, very wet. They are uncomfortable above 45F-50F (dry/wet) but excellent below. I use them on my winter commute, ice biking, and have used them in the mountains for part of my 'action suit'. They are a little heavy and stiff so not 5 stars.

I love the Pearl Elite tights and figured the Amphib would be the same, only warmer/better. However, these lack the wonderful uber comfortable chamois that the Elite tights have. There is no chamois whatsoever. Great cold weather tight, but significantly flawed due to the absence of a chamois.

I have used these down to 5 degrees on the road and on the trail, in snow storms and under bright winter sun, on rides long and short, and they perform admirably. If they had a zippered pocket they would be perfect.
