Comments about Arc'teryx Fission SL Jacket - Men's:

If this jacket goes on sale, make your move! I sailed with it in the November rain on the Chesepeake Bay and stayed dry and warm. I wear my gamma mx and a thin layer under this jacket while snowboarding Vail for two months. The inner pockets hold my alpha sv gloves perfectly and the pit zips vent unwanted heat well. The insulated helmet compatible hood is great for windy days on the lift and OK for down hilling through powder filled trees. For back country outings I wear my alpha sv shell and my gamma mx softshell for my first layer. When my day goes long or for when a storm rolls in I have piece of mind because my highly compressible ultra warm fission sl is there in my pack to save the day as a mid layer under my alpha sv. So far the two layer gore-tex is proving to be puncture resistant while boarding the trees in the back bowls. This jacket in black is a rather plain jane looking ski jacket that could be worn to a funeral and warm enough to keep you from attending your own!

Comments about Arc'teryx Fission SL Jacket - Men's:

The best jacket in the world!!!!! The Fission SL is an amazing jacket that can be worn in the any conditions below 40 degrees F. It keeps the heat in, but is also extremly breathable. I am going into my second year of owning this amazing jacket and it is still waterproof. I have been it snow and rain stroms with the SL and it keeps me completely dry and warm. I bought the Fission SL, because I was going on a mountaineering trip. I am very happy that I did so. I was debating between a down or a synthetic jacket, but I am pleased I chose synthetic, because it rained during part of the expedition. Synthetic material is very water resistant, dries quickly when wet, and still insulates when wet! If I had gotten the goose down jacket I would have been wet and freezing during most of my expedition. Sure the down jacket might be a little warmer, but that warmness would go amay if it got wet. So, I am very satisfied with my decision. Although I live in Chicago IL, the temperature still drops to the negitives during the winter and it is also windy. The Fission SL solves this problem. It is completely windproof and still breathes! This jacket keeps you extremly warm, when I wear it in weather below -20 degrees F I just have 2 base layers under it! The only negitive point I have to share with you about this jacket is its price. Even though it is the worlds best synthetic jacket I think it could cost way less than [$] Beside the price of the Fission SL it is the best jacket to ever be made, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes outdoor activities in below zero temperatures.
