Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
I received a gift card from a friend and have been wanting to add one of these to my outdoor gear collection for a long time with no valid reason..until I moved from the soggy Pacific Northwest to the chilly desert in winter ;) I originally had my heart set on the Mountain Hardware version but after trying on Patagonia, MH, REI and NF versions, NF won out. Solid black color (not grayed out), nice long sleeves (they don't expose my wrists/forearms when I reach up to inspect my aircraft), and limited striped paneling (the sleeves are solid). I didn't want to like it but with every feature overall better than the others AND $50 cheaper at full retail...I LOVE IT. Also the trim is really nice, especially the cuffs which are rugged but soft, and the shell material is thicker than the others which bodes well for long-term survival! I'm 5-5, 135lb, athletic, usually a size 4-6 top and the SMALL fits me perfectly with room for a base layer if you need it. At $50 cheaper, it was a no brainer, I dread the hot summer when I can't wear it!!!

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
Excellent jacket! I needed something warm but compact enough to fit under my other shell jackets. This jacket is great - love the outside zipper pocket at the chest. The jacket is flexible so I can move easily, and it packs a lot of warmth. Also, it is zip-in compatible with other North Face jackets. I barely know I have it on, AND it's stylish - I love the longer length in the back. It definitely creates a slimming profile.
The synthetic insulation is also supposed to be better in wet weather, although I cannot comment on that yet.

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
After shivering through many various winters with a fleece and shell combo, I finally decided it was time for more insulation. Don't let the featherweight, compact design of this jacket fool you -- it's very warm! I wore a t-shirt underneath it in 30 degree weather, and it kept me from freezing while shoveling and walking.
Unlike most fleece, this jacket is a real pro in the wind. It isn't waterPROOF, but is fairly water-resistent. I wouldn't want to be caught in a downpour in it, but it would certainly fair better than most jackets. Where fleece does have this jacket beat is breathability. It can get a little stuffy.
All of the pockets have zippers, and I also like the chest pocket for small items. I would prefer to have this pocket on the inside, but it's hidden pretty well on the outside. I also like the fit of this jacket. There's a nice line down onto the hips, good back coverage, and the chest is roomy without compromising a slightly slim fit over the waist.

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
I usually wear a 6-8 in tops-coats, sweaters, shirts, etc. So I ordered a medium (I'm 5'9 135). However, when the jacket was delivered I was disappointed in the sizing :/. It was tight in the shoulder and arm area but fit fine everywhere else. This jacket is fitted and is hard to wear much underneath it more than a t-shirt. I'm afraid though the large would be too big and boxy. I am going to returned it. All in all, the jacket is very nice and well made, just not built for me.

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
I tried this on in the store and agreed with one of the other reviewers that the fit is strange compared to other jackets. A bit tight in the chest and even in the hips for me. I'm 5'7" and 135 pounds. I don't see how a more busty or ample woman could wear this jacket.

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
I had this jacket for 2 years now, although they now have a newer version. I love my jacket but it is def not warm enough for snowy days, unless you really layer your clothes up.
I also use as a travel jacket, it's light way and super easy to pack.

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
I bought it for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. We hit a cold snap right after she got it and she swears she is toasty warm. Long in the back to keep the chill out, light weight and good looking. But one of the pocket zippers broke with in the first week. She almost cried when I told her we needed to send it back, but it cost too much to ignore that type of defect. Very frustrating!

Less than 5 stars:
cuffs of sleeves are starting to shred/pull. Zipper when pulled up to neck is uncomfortable - scarf or neck gator is a work around. I was nice & toasty during winter travels in Europe & used it under a gore tech rain jacket for snow & rain.

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
I truly love this jacket. I have not taken this jacket out hiking yet, but I know it will keep me warm and dry out in the elements. I had purchased a shell a couple years ago, and I love how the combination of the shell and jacket will shield against the most extreme winter weather conditions. What I didn't realize until after I had purchased the jacket is that in the left pocket is an attached "bag" so that you can fit the jacket in the "bag" and throw it into you backpack. A very convenient invention.

Comments about The North Face Redpoint Jacket - Women's:
This is the 3rd North Face Jacket I've purchased and I love it! The fabric is very soft and super comfortable, probably the most comfortable jacket I own. I love that it will zip into my shell. It is both lightweight and warm. I wear it all the time.
