Comments about REI Overnighter Duffel - Boys':

Bought every piece of the 2011 version and am overall happy with it. I just wish this duffle had both a larger front pocket AND some sort of internal zippered pocket for keeping items separate. The outer pocket it does have is maybe 5 inches deep by 8 inches wide.

As a backpack, I think it'd be awkward for a child under 7 or 8 and even then they won't want to carry it far fully loaded.
