Comments about Granite Gear Vapor Flatbed Canoe Barrel Harness:

I received this as a gift recently from a family member and thought I'd put a few comments down on the harness. I'm using the product as a barrel carrier while in the BWCA. For a barrel harness it is very well made. The closures hold tight, the straps are comfortable and the adjustments are well placed. The hip belt was small but a call to Granite Gear and a visit to their website gave me all the info I needed to exchange the belt for a larger size. As with any GG product there are alot of ways to adjust the harness for the perfect fit. Almost too many. It takes a while to find the right setup for the weight you carry. The load lifters on the shoulder straps are a nice feature to keep the harness close to your back and shift the barrel up a bit. The barrel and harness ride low in the canoe so it won't catch wind when crossing some of the larger lakes.

All in all it's a good product and one I would recommend to other canoe trippers.
