        I work outside 40 hours a week doing environmental restoration and trail maintenance. I wore these practically every workday from November through April under Carhartts and sometimes on the weekends under jeans. These were durable, no runs nor holes in the seams, and very warm. Sometimes I would have to take them off later in the day when I got too hot while working. I am 5' and thin and got XS, they fit perfectly and the waistline is just below my belly button. They will stick out above low-riding pants. My only complaint: shave your legs or you will be itchy as they catch your short, prickly lower leg hairs...

          This is a great base layer for petites. The fabric feels a bit scratchy but softens with laundering. The elastic band iat the top is not covered with fabric and the sharp edges dig in. The fit is baggy in the thighs but this is a good thing if you have big things. The fabric is thin enough that bulk is not an issue. Overall, this is a good baselayer for the price and among the few options available for petites.

            REI is the only brand with decent petite sizing. Perfect length, nice material. I wore it 3-4 days a week for the whole winter as leggings with skirts & boots and there is little wear on the garment. The waist was comfy despite not having fabric. May be the previous reviewer needs a size bigger.
