Comments about REI Midweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms - Men's:
I got these on sale and these were my favorites for snowboarding all season.
For the price they were better than my more expensive brand name pair.
As someone mentioned, they lack spandex, but my brand name ones had more spandex and became more "itchy" after a few hours and taking them off.
I was worried about pilling so I hung dry them and noticed only a little pilling caused by my sock onto the boot and then onto the pants from the boot.
Overall I was very pleased because of the sale price and quality/dollar, and I just bought some more for next season today.
I would recommend them if you can get them on sale. I also wore them under pants when it got below 20 deg F and they worked well as a combo with the REI Sahara cargos and some TNF ones.

Comments about REI Midweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms - Men's:
At a better price/value than the better known brands, this item is just as well made using the same material, fits well and prforms as expected. Will give it the fifth star if it hasn't developed any holes 10 years from now.

Comments about REI Midweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms - Men's:
These pants have quickly become the favorite base layer in my drawer. They keep you warm and dry in most conditions. The only issue I had was the placement of the care tag. Once you cut that off, all is well.

I really enjoy them and they have been great! I will definitely buy them again. My brother's patagonia pair blew out before mine!

Comments about REI Midweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms - Men's:
Very nice and comfortable. Skiied in 17 degree weather with these, some light sweat pants and ski bibs and stayed nice and toasty. They felt like they weren't even there, but kept me very warm. I would recommend these to anyone who wants to stay warm, but who doesn't want bulky underwear.

Comments about REI Midweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms - Men's:
I wore these Polartec bottoms when temperatures fell from mid 30's to 26 degrees during the past week, with the addition of heavy rain. I'm very satisfied, they kept me pretty warm throughout the night. The best part is that they ventilate pretty well, while keeping warm, so I don't have sweaty legs.

My husband loved them the second he put them on. He could feel the warmth and the fit was perfect.

Comments about REI Midweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms - Men's:
I miss the spandex that was in the old material. So much more comfortable. Close fitting. Not science based but this new "waffle iron" fabric may be just a tad warmer. It doesn't feel as good next to my hide though. I like the larger openings for your feet, make it much easier to get off. My dog will miss all the hopping about, she thought we were playing a game. I have a question: these longjohns come with a small stiff tag stiched into a seam, it scratches, can I pick out the thread that holds it in or will that damage the garment? If the maker needs a tag there, why not print it on papertowel material?

My husband will only take them off long enough to wash them. Will have to buy more for sure!

Comments about REI Midweight Polartec Power Dry Long Underwear Bottoms - Men's:
I found the REI Polartec Power Dry bottoms to be a comfortable fit, found no loose thread or poor quality manufacture, and they provided the same insulation as more expensive brands. These bottoms have only been on a couple multi-day trips, so I cannot attest to their durability. I do not see any piling yet. If they hold up over time, I would buy again and save a few bucks.
