Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
I've received so many compliments on this jacket. It's traveled with me on many an occassion, and has never failed me yet! With the snug-fitting hood (though the only part that's not very complimentary looking), thumb-holes on sleeves, and nice fit overall (plus, the purple color -- my favorite!), this jacket is great! It seems perfect for life in the Northwest. Highly recommend it.

Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
An absolute perfect layer jacket for me. I practically live in this jacket and am worried I'll wear it out and won't be able to replace it. The fit is absolutely perfect. I'm 5.6 and weigh 170lb, wearing a large. I'm an athletic build, but do have womanly curves and I find it impossible to find a perfect fit in jackets (always compromising). They are usually tight in the waist, or if I size up, too large in the shoulders. If I don't size up, the chest is tight. This one has enough stretch to give me the perfect fit between waist, bust and shoulders. It accentuates perfectly. The sleeve length is perfect, but I don't usually have a problem here. The thumbholes are placed perfectly and I like the mesh rather than full thick fabric on the inside part of the thumbloop. The hood is perfectly sized, not too big, not too tight. The zipper comes up just enough to provide the extra warmth, but does not scratch or look hokey. I've used this jacket as a mid-layer for skiing and hiking. Outer layer for running (but am worried I'll wear it out and won't be able to replace it) as well as for travels on airplanes, etc. I've taken this one to Alaska (used it as a mid-layer under a gore tex jacket) and Florida (inside jacket) - it is the most versatile piece of clothing I own and cannot believe it is an REI brand piece. None of my high-end brand gear is as versatile or form fitting as this one. Also, the pocket on the arm is perfectly sized. It fits my iphone, which is not the case in many of my other brand running jackets... Please bring this back in many different colors, I am terrified I won't be able to replace the one I live in.

Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
I bought this jacket a few years ago and wear it all the time on morning runs as my outer layer. I love all the pockets and that it isn't so tight fitting. I was so excited to see it online so I ordered what I thought was the same jacket. Much to my disappointment, it fits completely different now. I thought for a second I had accidentally ordered the small! I am 5'4" and 120 pounds and the Medium was very fitting. It's probably a great jacket but I was expecting it to fit like the one I currently have and love and it did not. :(

...I bought a second one after receiving this as a gift! I am one of those people who is ALWAYS cold during the winter months. This was more than I would have spent on a fleece, but after my husband bought me one, I was convinced that it was worth it. I love the sleeve pocket for keeping my cell phone in, and the fact that it is soft and flexible has me reaching for it every time I leave the house. On frigid or wet days, I layer it under my Taku jacket and I feel invincible!

Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
This is almost a good jacket, but REI missed the mark on the cut. I am a VERY thin/wiry person and the arms are SO small from the elbow down that I can barely pull the jacket over a thin long-sleeve shirt. After I do have it on, my arms feel like they are wearing compression socks like old women wear. The construction of the thumb holes is also very cheap looking as though it may not last well, compared to an almost identical jacket from Outdoor Research. I purchased a small (size 4-6) and the body is basically the correct size to wear over a long sleeve shirt. If I purchased the medium, then it would be too long and too large in the waist, but the shoulders in the small are almost too tight. If you normally wear a size 4-6 and aren't VERY skinny or have broad shoulders, I recommend the medium. If you are buying it for running or wearing over a t-shirt in the spring/summer, buy the small. I'm currently considering whether to return this one or wear it when all I need is a little extra over my base layer...

I use this jacket over a T-shirt for chilly evenings in the summer and as a mid layer for snowboarding. Love the long, tapered sleeves and high zippered hood to keep out the winter chill. Best with a thin base layer and insulated jacket when at the ski resort. Washed dozens of times, still looks like new. Size S fits great - tapered & fitted but not too snug. I'm 5'7" & 120 lbs.

Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
This jacket gives me a great fit (XS). Lots of XS sizes are usually still too big but this one gives me enough wiggle room to have one or two thin shirts underneath without it being too tight. Lengths of the sleeve are as good as it can be (I have slightly longer arms for my height so that's a compliment). Cut is fitted with a nice shape. I love that the outside pockets are a large size and I can also put stuff in the inside too. Plus the sleeve pocket's pretty convenient for stowing a cell phone. The hood has a great fit also without having to pull any strings to tighten it plus it's great to be able to zip the neck up to the chin. Helps block out the wind.
Quality of the material seems to be pretty good. I don't have a lot of REI brand clothing so hopefully, it holds up to frequent wearing as I plan to wear this quite a bit. I tend to get very cold very easily so it's not as warm for me but it'll work great as a soft shell piece for my bigger jackets for when I start my snowboarding again.

Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
I absolutely love this jacket, it instantly became my go-to jacket and it was perfect for windy, cold, blizzardy bush Alaska. Unfortunately, the underarm seams and the seams at the back of the hood are separating after just 2 months! I remember seeing reviews about this seam problem and I ignored them. Perhaps the poor construction is fixed in the new version because I don't see reviews about that, but the new colors don't appeal to me as much (I had the brick red one).
What a bummer, it was windproof, looked good, great snug fit, nice hand warmers, hood was super functional....shame it's falling apart! I will have to return it.

Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
This is the most useful, versatile jacket I own. My black one looks nice enough to wear to work; my old red one goes on every mountaineering trip. On winter trips it is warm, adequately windproof and sheds snow...and it breathes! That hood has kept snow from dripping down my neck while crashing through snowcovered trees and brush on many trips, and it really does fit under a helmet. It's perfect for the constantly changing conditions of trips in the Pacific Northwest.

Comments about REI Ladro Jacket - Women's:
I bought this to act as a lightweight jacket during a recent business/casual trip to New England where fall temps were expected to be in the 50-60's.
It was perfect for the plane/airports, scrunched down at the bottom of a backpack without taking up much room but providing some serious warmth when needed. One night I even slept in it when the hotel room thermostat fritzed out.
I love the thumbhole feature since it keeps the sleeves from bunching up as other jackets tend to do and the abundance of pockets means I can stash everything from my iPod to phone, wallet and camera without feeling like a pack goat.
But my real 'wow' moment came when we watched the local high school football game in sudden sleeting rain, wind and a temp drop of 15 degrees. While not waterproof, the Ladro kept me dry for the 90 minutes until we were back in the car and the hood zipped up so snug that my ears were even comfy. Everyone around me was stunned that I wasn't miserable in such a 'thin' jacket and I see an increase in Ladro sales coming soon.
Definitely recommend if you're looking for a lightweight jacket that can hold its own with the big boys...er, girls.
