I finally got tired of buying low quality knives so I decided to invest in a Benchmade. This is an awesome knife! The spring assist on it is very smooth and makes it super easy and fast to open. Benchmades "upside down" clip design is extremely useful and makes drawing and opening the knife quick and painless. Most knives you have to draw, flip over, then open. Not the case with Benchmades and that is one of the features I really like about their knives.Benchmade's Axis lock is an excellent design and works great at keeping this knife locked in with absolutely no wiggle at all. Closing is very simple as well, just have to fight off the spring a little bit, but its no big deal. The blade is very sharp even after heavy use. When I first got this knife, I felt it looked a little bit small, but after some use, it is the perfect size for every day carry in your pocket. The clip is still strong and secures the knife to the pocket very well. I like the ambidextrous feature as I am a lefty, its nice to know some companies actually remember we exist. haha. The knife also features a safety lock to either lock it open or closed. I never really use it, but its a cool feature.Overall, its a beautiful well made knife with only one downfall....the PRICE! Definitely wait till this thing goes on sale.

Instead of repeating what everyone else said I am just going to lay it down fast. I only buy nice, high quality knives. Iv owned this knife for about a year and I am still surprised by how sharp it is. After a year of constant use I am happy to say that the spring tension is still as strong and and there is absolutely zero wiggle in the blade when it is opened. Even all my other expensive blades have some wiggle to it. I carry this knife EVERYDAY.

This blade is fantastic. If you are looking a a solid, sharp, every day carry knife, this one is it. I also have the Benchmade 530; while the 530 is a great, lightweight knife, I am always afraid of bending the blade - great for slicing, but leave the serious work to the 585.

The opening of the blade is smooth and swift, quick and at the ready. The safety lock is nicely tucked away on the side opposite the blade and is useful in holding the blade back. Overall the knife is a great tool its ability to be at the ready in less that a second is great for when you need it to be ready.

I have the LE 585-1 version of this knife, with G-10 scales, and for a small sub 3" blade this thing gets a lot of pocket time. I have more than 30 Benchmades and this is one of my very favorites. After a year there are no problems, the blade is centered, spring is strong, and the 154CM blade is easy to touchup.

Highly recommended for an EDC knife!

Excellent EDC knife, just the right size. My second Benchmade knife, very well made, sharp durable blade. I have a Griptillian H20 as well, this is easier to carry every day, blade assist is outstanding, and the ability to lock the blade open or closed all make it better all around knife for everyday use.
