I first heard about capilene on a cold weather cycling thread. Since it was recommended by folks north of Oklahoma I figured they knew what they were talking about. I rode all SUMMER with my long sleeve capilene 2 tee. It provided great cover from the the sun and didn't cook me with bulk. The material breathes exceptionally well. Not having a great physique, I wore a cotton tee over it as the material is rather thin. My tee shirt was dampened more by sweat than the capilene. The fit and comfort are very good too. Many clingy synthetics bug me, almost smothering me. The Capilene 2 fit snug but comfortable against the skin without the slick/clingy-ness feeling of many synthetics. Works great, feels great and is quite durable. While it will snag easily that is a function of being a knit and a base layer. I'll be adding long johns and more tops as I can afford it. MUCH cheaper that wool and easier to care for. Looking forward to a comfortable winter on bike.

- I wear it as an under shirt and as a warm weather long sleeve.
- I wore it in the deserts of southern Nevada and it was definitely not overly warm for the weather. It breaths well because it is a level 1.
- It is not the most resilient material.

Breathable top that also serves as an excellent baselayer. I found it to be more useful than the Capilene 1 top I bought, which lacks the breathability. I've used it for winter sports in Ohio & WV as well as for warmer weather backpacking in New Zealand, where it was well adapted to a temperate, but wet climate. The one downside has been that the fabric pilled after handwashing.

Great for cool days or layer under warmer stuff. I sweat alot and this keeps me dry and after a wash it dosnt stink. Its a great product all there stuff is.
