Comments about REI Minimalist Gloves - Men's:

These gloves look klunky but they're not. They fold up fairly small in your pocket. They provide fair to good dexterity. Indeed, they're now my favorite glove for mildly cold weather. The loose outer shell with a thin liner means not constriction of your fingers, unlike the "new" softshell gloves such as varioius Seirus gloves. They are windproof and water resistant and dry fairly quickly. All in all, a great glove. However, I had to return two pair as there were manufacturing defects (the little finger liner was not tethered at the fingertip). But REI has painless exchanges.

I bought these to wear while I am driving my motorcycle in the cold weather. I live in Vegas, and I wear these when it is 30-60 degrees outside. They do a great job of keeping the cold air out as I am driving up to 75 miles per hour.

I liked these because they are light and were comfortable alone down to around 25 and then with a pair of liners they were a warmer glove. I used them for 3 day hikes and then while skiing the other day I noticed one of the seams was coming apart. I plan to take them back and buy some better quality like Marmot Precip shell gloves. It seems like for [$] they should last at least one season.
