Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
I used these outer shells with and without the separately sold power stretch inners while climbing in the Alps this past August. It's difficult to remove these gloves without pulling the liner inside out, and even more difficult to restore the liner back in. They inverted on me on a climb on a cold, windy day. I couldn't get the liners back in the finger holes and had to down climb with my fingers and thumb just stuffed as a clump into the glove. Awful experience. Also, I find that for cycling below freezing these gloves aren't warm enough even with the power stretch inners. Now they're in the trash.

Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
Used this gloves on the lower portions of McKinley and Rainier climbs last month. Marmot claim these gloves to be waterproof but but didn't take log for me to find those claims to be incorrect. Also I used the XL sizing hoping to be able to wear a liner inside if required but the sizing's are small in comparison to other manufacturers and I was not able to fit any liner inside the shell.
I could not recommend the gloves based on the expectations of being water and windproof.

Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
Bought these primarily for backpacking. Just spent a week out with a number of days of light to heavy rain with temps in 40F range. Kept my hands dry and warm. Outer skin dried out overnight in mid-30'sF and 100% humidity. Glove cuffs fit over rain jacket cuffs to prevent rain from rolling into sleeves. Best [$] spent in some time.

Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
Very good shell. They feel loose and too large when I wear without a liner. My hands get cold in these when the temps are below -20F. They are great for early winter and spring conditions.

Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
I use these at work. They are perfect for what I do, which is working with a pressure washer outside in the winter. i like the fact that they are thinner than most gloves with this cut which provides more dexterity. You still have the option to use a liner if you want for really cold days.

Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
These gloves are the most logically constructed goods I have had the pleasure of owning since I bought my Marmot Never Summer sleeping bag. Marmot knows what they're doing, that is why I, so blindly, trust their products. I used these gloves today, in Boston, while out in the snow. The gloves seem warm enough to satisfy the rating but I also wore a power stretch layer underneath.
My hands never got cold, wet, or even slightly unhappy. The draw cord on the wrist, as well as the overall concept and construction of the gloves, are marked by practicality and common sense. Marmot clearly tests their gear and subjects them to the rigors of the uses in which they're intended for. When you find a brand you like and trust, stick with it; that is my philosophy. Marmot has yet to lose my faith. Keep up the great work.

Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
I am a boyscout who goes winter camping. I buy all my own gear and am happy I spent my money on these! These gloves are extremely waterproof and I like the strap feature. I highly recomend wearing a liner glove with them, such as the Marmot Power stretch. Buying a size larger when using a liner isn't a bad idea. Great product for the price.

Comments about Marmot Precip Shell Gloves:
Marmot says these gloves are waterproof, and they are. Got these after returning Seirus "Weatherproof" and REI Minimalist gloves which weren't.
Gloves were totally dry after being submerged in water for 5 minutes. They were then wrung out and re-submerged for another 5 minutes. My hands were bone dry, and the gloves were also dry after about 30 minutes in sunny 70 degree weather.
Marmot rates them down to 30, and with their light liners, that seems about right. However, if you buy them large enough to wear an additional liner (SmartWool maybe), I sure you could stay comfortable at lower temps.
