The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about National Geographic Colorado 14'ers Trails Illustrated Explorer Mapping Software:
I bought this CD ROM thinking I would be getting National Geographic Trails Illustrated maps translated onto 1:24,000 maps. This is not the case. What you actually get is the same trails illustrated maps as the printed versions (1:40,000), then when you try to zoom in on them - all the trails disappear and you are left with the standard USGS maps with no trails except what are on the USGS maps. Worse yet, there is no GPX data for any of the TI trails, so you can't send them to your GPS device. I guess you have to draw your own trails, tracing over the TI trail? But again, if you zoom in, then all the TI trails disappear. There are some good things about this product, like the fact that you get TI maps at all. But thats about it. I would rather just buy the waterproof printed copies.

Comments about National Geographic Colorado 14'ers Trails Illustrated Explorer Mapping Software:
I use this product to plan a route, identify likely camps, and research new areas where I have not yet visited. There's a bit of a learning curve, particularly for the GPS interface depending on one's experience level. It's loaded with as much information as one could want, Lewis and Clark would have been stupified.
