          I use this to keep my water cool, especially in a hot car. It works great! I also use it to keep chocolate milk cold for a post workout recovery drink and it is perfect. I was really surprised to see that some people put hot beverages in it. The description does say it keeps things warm (not hot) or cold for hours.

          It pains my heart to not be able to give this product a 5-star review, because I was SO EXCITED to get it.

          I walk a mile to law school every day, and I'd love to be able to enjoy my coffee once I get there. So I bought this. It worked well for a while, until the seal (sometimes referred to as a gasket) came out.

          Ten fingers is simply not enough fingers to get the seal back in there. It won't stay. It's too slippery. Once I did manage to get it, but apparently not up to the lid's specifications (I couldn't see anything wrong), and then it leaked. Until the seal came out in my coffee.

          Ever wondered why they don't make coffee cups out of the rubber they make seals out of? I have your answer-- because it has an AWFUL aftertaste.

          I contacted KK (hooray awesome customer service!) and they're sending me a repair kit, but the fact that they already have repair kits to send out kind of means they did something wrong in the design stage.

          It *does* keep liquid very hot for at least two hours if you don't open it. I thought that was nice.

          Wanna love it, but can't. I'll probably return it to REI once I make it to a store.

            I liked everything about this bottle and was really excited to try it out. It is easy to carry with the loop-top lid and I like the small capacity because I do not need more than 12oz of coffee. It was advertised as keeping liquids hot for six hours, but I found after three hours the coffee was only lukewarm. So I tested it next to my REI brand regular thermos that is about the same capacity. I added boiling water to both and at the end of three hours the Klean Kanteen was 145 F and the thermos was 182 F. The problem with the Klean Kanteen is the threaded area is not insulated, nor is the cap. I specifically did not fill it beyond the vacuum section during the test. After three hours the lid was quite warm while the walls were cool to the touch, clearly all of the heat is being lost through the lid. I hope Klean Kanteen develops an insulated lid to increase the performance of this product. If they do I will try again.

              Does everything it is supposed to do...and it fits in a bicycle water bottle cage. You might not want to take this backpacking, but it is great around town.

                I was excited to try the insulated bottle because I've had great luck with Klean Kanteen's non-insulated products. The bottle itself works as advertised--it keeps liquids hot for several hours in my experience (haven't yet used it more than 3-4 hours). The outside of the bottle remains completely cool to the touch, except around the very top of the collar. My complaint is with the "cafe" lid, which converts it into a go-cup. It is not at all leakproof--in fact, it lets enough liquid out even while shut that you can almost sip from it. If you're putting this bottle in a pack or purse, or throwing it in the trunk, stick with the original cap. Here's hoping KK upgrades the cap, because the bottle itself works great.
