Comments about Sea To Summit Insect Shield Mosquito Head Net:
I bought this product on a whim and stuck it into a pocket on my golf bag. While playing a round in the early spring on Green River Golf Course, Santa Ana Canyon, I was attacked by a swarm of black flies, they were very determined. On the 3rd tee I pulled out this tiny marvel and was very pleased with the results. My mates were extremely jealous and made several offers to purchase, offers refused of course, resulting in death threats and name calling. It was made obvious that I had a superior intelligence and a lower handicap.

Comments about Sea To Summit Insect Shield Mosquito Head Net:
I purchased this head net over a year ago, and have now used it through 2 full field seasons while working out the forests of West Africa. I have been incredibly impressed by this item, as it has yet to break or show any signs of holes, despite 6 months of heavy use, thorns, killer bees, etc. I don't know what I would have done without it, as it was likely one of the most important items I carried out in the bush with me, and was instrumental in keeping out the swarms of sweat bees that although are tiny, are unable to penetrate the net. Even better, it can be washed easily, and dries quickly. Given the price, this is an incredibly good find!
The only drawback about this net is that, being black, can be rather hot at times if you are in full sun (and may potentially attract insects because of the color).

Comments about Sea To Summit Insect Shield Mosquito Head Net:
It's very small, light, and less expensive than other nets. It is more easy to see through than some because the mesh is not as fine. My primary complaint is that it did not have adequate circumference, interior volume, or size. It was always against my nose, chin, and just didn't have enough room inside. particularly with a hat on which most people will be using outdoors in some form. (Not a good net to use with a full brimmed hat, it won't fit.) Small headed people using a baseball cap might be ok. It's small size was a consistent problem every time I put it on and tried to use it.

Comments about Sea To Summit Insect Shield Mosquito Head Net:
I was very disappointed with this head net. The picture is misleading because it shows the product with adequate netting reaching her shoulders over a hat. I have a mil spec boonie hat, and the netting is too short, leaving the netting above the shoulders exposeing the neck when the cord is cinched and if you don't cinch it the blood suckers manage to fly up inside the net. My conclusion is that the manufacturers must have altered the original pattern.
Another mention, this is not No-See-Em netting, but had larger holes which I didn't care for.
REI needs their own label on a headnet that has a superior design to this offering.
