Great tire for the price and it holds up really well. Used on rear wheel only. Picked up two on sale and very glad I did.

Comments about Continental Trail King Tire - 26 x 2.2:

I bought 2 of these to replace the tire that were on my hardtail mountain bike from when I bought it because they were not agressive enough. these were a great deal compare to other tires like these. they really dig in the corners and on loose and rocks trails. The only complain I have is that when they were shipped, they bent the non folding bead to get them in the box. It was very hard to get the tires on the wheels because of this.

Comments about Continental Trail King Tire - 26 x 2.2:

I bought the trail king from a competitor at a higher price but after a few rides in the Wasatch, these tires climb well and have a grippy feel on the trail. I would say a good value tire.

Comments about Continental Trail King Tire - 26 x 2.2:

The other review says, "If this is the folding tire 'handmade in Germany,' it is a great buy." I missed the word IF. To be fair, it works fine and the description listed it as foldable "no." Missed that too I guess. This is the wire bead model Made in India. Probably could have got them just as cheap anywhere. I was trying to get bigger tires for my bike that still fit, so it's kind of hit or miss. I think these still have the Black Chili rubber. Can't remember. These are still voluminous and most of the knobs are on top so they don't have side clearance issues like the Panaracers I tried. Bicyclebuys keeps have the foldables on sale intermittently.

Comments about Continental Trail King Tire - 26 x 2.2:

If this is the folding tire "handmade in Germany," it is a great buy! Previously known as the "Rubber Queen," this is a great all-round mtb tire. It is large volume for a 2.2, very cush. And the Black Chili compound has excellent grip for SoCal conditions. It weighs more than the advertised 650g -- closer to 700g in the wild. Wish the rolling resistance and weight were a little lower. Sealed up nicely for me tubeless on converted rims.
