Comments about CamelBak Podium Ice Bike Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
I read the comments made by an earlier poster so I was eager to buy one based on the test results he came up with. I then took an old Polar bottle that I had and filled it and the Camelbak Podium Ice with cold water. I then stuck a digital wire thermometer connected to a automotive test meter and put the wire into each bottle and got a reading of 65 degrees then closed the lids and let set for 4 hours at room temperature of 79 degrees. Open the lids stuck the wire back into the water and the Podium came out 6.5 degrees warmer then the Polar. Something must be wrong with the test I thought, so I refilled both bottles and tested the water again then put each on my bike and went for a ride in 87 degree sunny weather for 2 hours; got back home and again the Camelbak was warmer by 5.8 degrees then the Polar. I redid the test with ice water, rode outside and again the Camelbak was warmer. I did a total of 8 tests with the last test filled the bottles with water and freezing both bottles overnight then setting them outside on the patio. In fact the last test the Polar still had ice chunks in the water while the Camelbak had completely melted and was 10.2 degrees warmer then the Polar. In all the tests the Polar came out the clear winner.
My conclusion was that somehow the other reviewer didn't test very accurately and came out with a false test result. The Polar won, and I was glad I only bought one Camelbak and not two as I had planned! Save your money and get the Polar if you want the best insulation as I do.

Comments about CamelBak Podium Ice Bike Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
Intrigued by other users reviews I decided to do my own test. I put 20 equally sized ice cubes in this and a 20oz polar bottle, both new, then topped off with water. I placed them outside in 75f weather and periodically went outside and shaked them to see if I could still hear the ice rattling. At the point where I could only here water sloshing in both bottles I opened the lids and checked out the contents. Both bottles had about equal small reminders of ice. Measured with a digital probe the polar was 49f the camelbak 50f, no significant diiference. So what else?
Camelbak has nice valve system but I find it fiddly on a bike.
Camelbak squeezes better.
Is it worth nearly twice as much? No

Comments about CamelBak Podium Ice Bike Bottle - 21 fl. oz.:
I tested this bottle along with a Polar insulated bottle. 25 miles into the ride, the Camelbak Ice still had ice, the Polar bottle was warm. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Hard to find but glad I did. I use it for the golf course and am very pleased how cold it does keep my water.
Much better mouthpiece than the standard camel baks.
No leakage at all.
