The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Thule Doubletrack 2-Bike Hitch Rack:
Regretfully, I returned this rack after 1 use. For all the 50+ pounds it weighed, plus straps and hold downs, the whole rack bounced and swayed along with my bikes as I drove leisurely around town.
The rack was heavy and cumbersome, making it difficult to mount and dismount. Its size and weight made finding space to store it a challenge.
Even placing bikes on the rack was awkward, particularly after a long ride. While leaning your bike away you must rotate up the center pillar containing the hold-down arms. Perhaps with more practice, it would have been easier.
I take no pleasure in criticizing this product. I bought it in the hopes of using it happily for a long time.
I'm not sure that enough thought went in to the original design particularly the weight issue. Lighter materials would have helped. The heavier materials contributed nothing to the stability and may have increased the bounce and sway.

Comments about Thule Doubletrack 2-Bike Hitch Rack:
Looked at the Yak-Rack and this one -- glad I went with this Thule!! This replaced a previous Thule (overhead hang) that I had for over 10 years. The Thule Double Track is a great rack -- a little assembly required, but the assembly is minimal and Thule provides (with the rack) the tools to complete assembly – I had the entire rack assembled and properly installed in the tow-hitch within 15 minutes. The rack, once properly secured within the 2" tow-hitch, is solid with little to no movement even up winding mountain passes and dirt roads. Set up and loading is a breeze. I like the platform rack (Double Track) over my previous overhead load Thule rack in that the platform rack keeps the bikes separated, so they do not rub / vibrate against one another during long trips that completely remove paint or damage cassettes / gears / wheels / cyclometers / etc. I do not think highly of the security that comes with the rack (I currently employ a Kryptonite cable lock in addition to the key locks on the rack), however it was a deterrent on a trip prior to my Kryptonite cable lock purchase where several bikes were stolen off racks of three cars near mine, and the multi-thousand dollar bikes on my Thule Double Track rack (with only the key locks) were not touched. Easy to assembly, load the bikes on and nice fold-away feature makes it easy to back into below-grade parking structure spaces when the bikes are not loaded. Great Rack!!

Comments about Thule Doubletrack 2-Bike Hitch Rack:
Owned this rack for a year and will be returning it, having given it more than one chance. Very difficult to move the arm up/down that secures top tub - it would stick in groove and just not move - rest of the piece worked well and it was easy to assemble. Had 50/50 chance of needing to wrestle with the arm for 10-15 minutes before it moved far enough out of the way that I could get the bikes out. Also, as previous reviewer said, it's heavy and has a tendency to sway on the hitch. I never worried it would fall off, but not a secure feeling either. Too bad, because it fit both our (big) bikes and was a snap to load when the arm moved well.

Easy to load and unload bikes, even for my wife. Able to easily access the trunk. No need to remove front wheel. Threw away the other racks we owned.
